Fantastic first game of Benghazi Handicap/Fistful of Sand/Once Upon A Time in North Africa (remove as appropriate) with @flankmarch.bsky.social: suitably close game, even if the cruiser tanks all ended up as burning wrecks

As an added bonus for Flank March fans I may even have broken under interrogation and let slip some hints at what's coming next after the East and West Germans.

In many ways, its my sculpting journey coming full circle as listening to Brad and Bob from Bobmack3d on the WS&S pod was the spark that made me start working on Cold War figures in the first place.

Are your wargaming ambitions bigger than your cupboards? Do you want to fill up your tabletop without filling up your Really Useful Boxes? 2D CQB Terrain Tiles are available now from the Full Metal Miniatures webstore: www.fullmetalminiatures.com/2d-cqb-terra...

What do you think of how the 2D CQB Terrain tiles have turned out? Are you going to use them on your tabletop? I’d love to know. 2D CQB Terrain Tiles are available now from the Full Metal Miniatures webstore: www.fullmetalminiatures.com/2d-cqb-terra...

2D CQB Terrain Packs

Based in Deal Kent and established in 2019 Fullmetalminiatures produce highly detailed quality 28mm metal figures and 1\56th scale resin and metal vehicles from the Vietnam War and Cold War era.

But a great design is no good if it doesn’t look great on your table. That’s where Deep-Cut Studio comes in. They’ve produced test prints to get the tiles looking great and manufactured them in their signature scratch and fade resistant 2mm mousepad material so they'll stand up to some hard gaming.

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

He has a great eye for colour and he’s done a great job adding dirt and damage to each building tile. These aren’t pristine, well-kept homes - they’re forlorn shells which have been riddled with bullets and covered in a layer of mud and dust. Perfect for any 20th Century or Post-Apocalyptic table!

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

If you’re into 28mm WWII, you read WI or WS&S magazine, or you’ve been to a wargames show in the UK recently, then you’ll undoubtedly know Joe from his (multi-)award winning terrain and tables.

110

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

I’ve spent the last year designing the first 2D CQB Terrain pack, turning the tiles from an initial concept into something I’m happy to put on my own tabletop. I’ve been incredibly lucky to work through that process with Joe Bilton from Heroic Maps and the talented folks over at Deep-Cut Studio.

Simply drop them onto your table and start fighting intense room-to-room battles in minutes. ✅ Quick to Set Up ✅ Easy to Store ✅ Durable Mousepad Material ✅ Great for WWII, Modern, and Post-Apocalyptic Games. The first pack features suburban houses but we’ve got big plans to expand the range.

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

2D CQB Terrain is a new range of flat mousepad buildings designed to give wargamers an easily stored, affordable and fast-setup option for creating urban tables for 28mm WWII, Modern and Post-Apocalyptic games.

Want to add close-quarters urban combat to your tabletop games but don't have the space, time, or budget for a big collection of 3D buildings?

It's very rare that painting guides come with a health warning - always seek advice from a physician before attempting to paint Strichtarn camouflage on 28mm figures!

History is rarely that simple and in reality, despite being puppet of the USSR, the NVA had a distinct culture, a unique sense of its own history going back to the 16th century, and a very different perspective on how a hot war with NATO might play out - very different at least from the Soviets.

160

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

It turned into a bit of a passion project and that's mostly because I get the sense from some wargamers who are new to Cold War Gone Hot that the NVA are often easily dismissed as being carbon copy clones of the Soviets.

151

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

KLASSENKAMPF includes... - The history of the East German NVA, Fallschirmjäger, and KdA. - Squad TO&E - including 3 different options for the FJ commandos. - ORBATS and Equipment information for Mot.-Schützen from platoon all the way up to division and army level. - A look at the end of the NVA.

A new Cold War Kickstarter means it's time for a new Wargaming Guide. This time it's a lot longer than any of my previous ones - around 25 pages - partly because I got a bit carried away but there was also just so much to cover.

Kickstarter backers are what keep Flank March going as a business and allow me to keep sculpting Cold War figures. The All-In Tier is my way of offering those figures at the best possible price as a reward for that support.

100

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

This figure is performing the role of a military policeman and wears the white equipment of the Kommandantendienst (Commandant's Service). This was a temporary duty given to regular soldiers rather than a distinct unit with permanent staff in its own right.

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

With hundreds of vehicles and thousands of men all filing down congested roads to the front, you're going to need a way to maintain order and keep things flowing. And that's where BRUDERKRIEG 1's All-In Tier Exclusive comes in!

3 days to launch and very excited to finally show off the full East German "box art" from Marco Capparoni. Managed to catch up with Marco at Salute and see him painting live on the @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social stand. Incredibly lucky to work with such a talented guy who only keeps getting better.

The scenario we were running was a daring helicopter-borne NVA raid on West Berlin's Tempelhof airport and it really showcased the drama, action and hilarity that makes Battlegroundhd such a fun set of rules. I've put a full set of photos on my blog here: www.flankmarch.com/blog/salute-...

We had a fantastic time at Salute 53 - met loads of wargamers, played a lot of BattlegroundHD and showed off the new East Germans.

Steffan @ FlankMarch @flankmarch.bsky.social · 13/04/2026

Nearly recovered from Salute 53 but with 4 days before the East German Kickstarter goes live there's no time for a rest! I really enjoyed getting the new figures (in Fallschirmjager commando mode) onto the tabletop for the first time, we had a lot of fun and it proved to be a real motivation boost.
