It was hard for me to enjoy the "moment" as a mentor yesterday, when the funding mechanisms for each of these two individuals (+1 more in my lab) have been terminated. I will continue to fight the good fight, but we all have to do this together - for the next generation and for science. 2/2

It was nice to talk to middle-schoolers from Detroit and Ypsilanti about the brain and the importance of research at our annual #BrainsRule! event today. It felt especially important this year, and their eagerness to learn, energy, and laughter brought us all some much needed joy.
