This is just one of the rather gorgeous places I spent my weekend. If this doesn't scream "children's adventure story about running away to an uninhabited island to live in a cave," to you, you had a deprived childhood.

Sheltered cove on Russell Island off Vancouver, which is indeed uninhabited. There were no caves here, sadly, but I'm pretty sure we could have found some a bit further around the coast. Shot is of a rocky outcrop overhung with trees and bushes, on a beach strewn artistically with driftwood. You can just make out a somewhat blue sea in the background, though in reality it was a lot bluer.

Hmm, good question. I think I just chopped onions and the radishes and fried them a bit before I dumped in a couple of chopped potatoes, some veggie stock, and after pureeing, 2 cups of milk. Oh - salt and black pepper too! Oh yes, and I had two yellow courgettes wilting so I added them!

Honestly, I would buy shares, cos frankly who wouldn't like to travel back to a time that was less "interesting"?! (2025? No thanks, I'll take my chances with the Black Death...)
