PennDOT and #RabbitTransit have issued an RFP Philadelphia-Reading-Harrisburg bus service. If its operates like other subsidized PennDOT bus service, there would be local stops along the 422 corridor (Pottstown, Lebanon, Hershey etc.).

The Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority (SRTA), dba rabbittransit, in consultation with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Bureau of Public Transportation (BPT), is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified intercity bus service providers for the operation of intercity bus services under Pennsylvania's Intercity Bus Program.

The Pennsylvania Intercity Bus Program provides funding for regularly scheduled intercity bus service connecting rural and small urban communities with larger population centers and the regional and national intercity bus network. #DelanyHall has easy bus access (Route 25) from Newark Penn Station. NJ Transit accepts Tap and Pay on its buses. A Veo scooter ride is faster than the bus but you will be on streets with heavy truck traffic.

The latest version of the NJ Senate low-speed e-bike registration, license and insurance bill proposes a 1 year ban on selling of e-bikes over the internet. The legislature has 3 more work days to ram this bill through. www.njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/...

The (NJ) MVC is required to waive, for one year following the effective date of the substitute, all examination, registration, and licensing fees for the operation of low-speed electric bicycles and motorized bicycles.

Under the substitute, a person is to have six months following the effective date of the substitute to obtain insurance for a motorized bicycle that was not required to have insurance prior to the effective date, a registration certificate for a low-speed electric bicycle or motorized bicycle that was not required to be registered prior to the effective date, and a license to operate a low-speed electric bicycle or motorized bicycle if the person was not required to obtain a license to operate these bicycles prior to the effective date.

Finally, the substitute prohibits the sale or offer for sale on the Internet of any electric motorized bicycle for one year following the effective date of the substitute.

Wayne Township, NJ passed an ordinance banning class 1 and 2 e-bikes and e-scooters on roads >25 mph. Nearly 80 percent of these 26 roads are State and County roads (full list in the Alt Text. tinyurl.com/nj-ebike-bans

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Thursday’s energetic Donor Event and to George Bochetto, our attorney, for graciously providing his office as our venue. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you, share our progress, and exchange ideas about strengthening our collective voice. We look forward to future events and hope many more of you will attend. We encourage you to read Stu Bykofsky’s column covering the evening.

A central theme of the night was the power of community. Without your involvement, FOPS could not be effective. In just a year, we’ve grown from a small group gathered around a kitchen table to a professional, determined organization that has successfully slowed down the City’s misguided plan for Pine and Spruce—one that is unsafe, unnecessary, and unwanted. We’ve compelled the City to follow the law and have exposed the lack of evidence, analysis, or rationale behind installing physical barriers on our residential streets.

As we said at the event, here is what we continue to ask of all our supporters:

• We need your patience. This is a process. We will continue to push for constructive change, monitor the City’s every move and act when necessary. There will be ups and downs, but our overall trajectory is positive.
• Help us grow our base. Please talk to your friends and neighbors. Make it your goal to encourage 5 new people to join our movement.
