A better kind of music platform launches today: by us, for us — no vacuous life-sucking big money wretches allowed. Abandon Bandcamp, leave Spotify, and start a new life on @subvert.fm, the working platform owned and controlled by artists. www.subvert.fm/fix-everything

Made our first sale on @subvert.fm today, the income handily surpassing our net earnings from thousands and thousands of Spotify plays. The future is owned by us. Fix Everything. ✊🏼

This is not an Angine de Poitrine diss, we love guitars and guitar solos that sound like blackbirds on ketamine.

It seems microtonal music is having a moment in the guitar scene. Some tips from us for musicians who can’t afford a fancy new axe with all the extra frets: Guitar players: ignore scales, never tune, always whammy everything Bass players: just go fretless! Enjoy all the new notes, everybody ✨

100 x €30! that's like... at least 7 @chasebliss.bsky.social pedals right there

Never underestimate the power of a cool band name in the modern music scene. Streaming & online sales barely make us a dime and most people won't buy our neat blue €15 vinyl, but a cool black dad cap that says FIX EVERYTHING on the front? 100 sold at €30 a piece, no questions asked.

This is why do our best to elude success whenever it threatens to find us – utter obscurity is where a band can truly flourish.

When you’re making music, one thing you have to do is self sabotage. Otherwise the self gets in the way of the music, and that will hold the music back. So you have to sabotage the self periodically to make sure that doesn’t happen.

We've also pulled all our music from streaming services and will eventually leave @bandcamp.com too. Big upside to making obscure guitar music for the love of the game is that there isn't much financial loss involved, so it's pretty easy to get up on this high horse. 🧐

Since Bandcamp has been bought (and sold) by Epic Games and Spotify et al are horrific in other ways, the best viable alternative we see at the moment is the cooperatively owned @subvert.fm. Launching 12 May, they at least -try- to make some kind of better future for selling music on da Internet.

Thus starts a new quest for our band to have an Online Presence that doesn't fucking suck and isn't completely, totally corrupted by Big Tech influence. Besides our own website at www.fixeverything.club, we'll be using this as our social channel and @subvert.fm to host/sell our music.
