No, make it illegal *and* technically infeasible. Creep glasses are the point at which everyone is realising "Oh, actually all this really sucks." Everyone already knew, but this is a flaming garbage can. That's a chance to build objection to surveillance. We shouldn't waste that opportunity. :)

Why? The obvious attempt at further socially normalising technology for creeping on women. Manufacturers are obviously trying to push that line. That's why they are singled out, and for good reason. The glasses are a good starting point to build public objection as they're so obviously messed up.

Banning the glasses does plenty. After all, I've never seen a single woman screeching about how important the tech is, and how irresponsible banning it would be. Why is that?

Anything of use needs a period of adaption and ettitquette formation where we decide what to do with it, when and how. Big tech's constant "move fast and break things" deliberately tries to short circuit this with shiny bullshit.

They have one actual function: normalising creepy behaviour to capture more data for AI training. Focussing on "technical uses" is like discussing the shininess and flavour of the poison apple.

Regulate the devices. Imprison the creeps. Stigmatise the whole thing. Why are you sticking up for creep glasses, that overtly normalise creepy surveillance? Sometimes the function of a technology isn't its technical function, it's the way it modifies the social contract and normalises creeps.
