The epilogue chapter has been written. I think I tied things together in a nice little bow. Now, all that's left is to find the time to make a bunch of artwork.

Hello, everyone! Small update, but I finally took the next step in getting this story out there. That is, I proofread the entire thing in one day. I did already proofread each chapter individually back when I was writing them. However, I never went through and read my story from start to finish--

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Oh my god, it's been 6 months since I finished the new story. I'm so sorry lmao I'm gonna set aside a few days to proofread it all in one go (already proofread individual chapters) and fix some stuff up, and then I'll start working on chapter art.

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

My brain is going wild with thoughts relating to the last arc of all of my characters' stories. I hope I can continue to share them all with you soon.

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 07/10/2025

Wish I had more time to work on free things, honestly. Even ignoring the numerous smaller stories I've scrapped because of complete lack of time, I'm like... right at the end of this next big story I've been working on since Fish Scales ended. But, I haven't had the time to write the last bit.

120

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 03/06/2025

Just finished writing Chapter 9. I feel pretty happy now.

020

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Thinking about all of the next few weeks and wondering if I'm ever actually going to get to continue writing lmao

120

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 08/05/2025

What if I wrote like little short stories to fill in tiny bits of the gaps between time frames in Fish Scales; stuff like showing a bit more development between Itsuki and Masako, a bit more of the stuff with Feather... etcetera?

120

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 16/04/2025

Progress update on the next story: Of the 15 chapters I have planned (subject to change), I have written 8. Of those 8, 7 have been proofread by me, and I think 5 or 6 have been proofread by Steven. 0 chapter covers have been drawn.

Having another moment where it's taking a lot of restraint to not draw major spoiler moments.

010

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 05/01/2025

Today's Fish Scales's 2nd anniversary, by the way.

130

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

Omg guys check it out it's a sneak peak of the next story which abbreviates to "moth" omg omg omg

150

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 28/10/2024

I broke Problem is... uh, yeah, no lmao I can't share these. Sorry 💚

100

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 27/10/2024

I have spent the last few days wanting to draw super vague art of a lot of story arcs in my series again, but I really don't wanna accidentally make something too obvious and spoil part of any stories.

020

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 23/10/2024

On that note, I just finalized the plans for the last two chapters of the new story. So, all that's left is for me to follow my plans and continue writing. I'm feeling pretty great right now!

000

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 23/10/2024

I can't wait to continue writing soon. The chapters that I have written of the next story are already some of my best writing yet. I just hope nobody minds a little return trip happening. ...He is pretty shaken up still, after all.

000

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 01/09/2024

Guess who finally started writing again tonight!! I can't promise the story will release any time soon, because I'd rather get everything done FIRST this time before I start releasing chapters, just to make sure there isn't a massive gap between releases.

100

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 10/03/2024

Going back to this style of writing, by the way.

100

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 03/03/2024

Finally took the time to move the first batch of extras over, starting with the logo for the story, the cover template, and every version of the chapter covers without the template or the color filters. Enjoy seeing all of the beautiful colors of the cast (and my shortcuts)!

110

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 02/03/2024

Passing thought: When I work on this next story, I'm not limiting myself. With Fish Scales, I generally tried to stay around 12 to 16 pages per chapter. But, that felt a bit short a lot of the time, so some chapters may just be longer than others with this next one.

100

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 25/02/2024

I am obsessively thinking about stories and character stuff today. I think I'm actually excited to (hopefully) start the next story soon, beyond the prologue I already wrote yesterday.

000

Fish Scales @fishscales.bsky.social · 24/02/2024

Okay, everyone who's going to read the last chapter has read it by now, yeah? So, time to talk about Fish Scales. First off, those of you who read it know that there was a second chapter cover hidden in there for the second half of the chapter. Here it is, with solos too!

A Marshgreen tale tells about how the island's mountain, Mount Frigid, once fell cold and was abandoned by its inhabitants. Why this happened is unknown, but maybe a clue lies in the mountain's strange pull on the island's most mysterious child, Feather. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
