Something that surprised me about the Netherlands as someone who travels a lot is that even though 90% of the country can speak fluent English, they absolutely do not pander to English speakers. It's navigable, but most people will speak in Dutch, only switching to English out of spite.

I took the JLPT N5 test in Toronto last week, and what do you mean the listening portion was EASY? Listen I know the N5 test is "useless" but come on.. I wanted to test my skill level.
