A big spaceship showed up to the fishing spot today. I didn’t even notice it coming… it just appeared close by. The guy who was driving it looked kind of like Knuckles, if he was really tall and had a mask… we fished together for awhile till he caught the thing I caught a while back, then he left.

Everyone’s talking about Halloween costumes… I already have mine picked out. I got the coat as a gift after I beat that Doctor in Dodon Pa’s race. Then some people asked if I’d take part in their community theatre production, and that’s where this picture is from.

A picture from the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics pre-Super Genesis Wave, where Big the Cat is playing the role of Doctor Eggman in a theater production. His costume looks AMAZING, and his acting is surprisingly good!

Hmmmmmmm… I caught this an hour ago. Froggy didn’t think it would taste very good, so I threw it back in.

Oh, hello! You’re… Surge, right? And Shadow! It’s good to see you both! Did you also come out here to go fishing?

I had a strange dream last night. I was fishing, and then the water turned into blood. The next thing I knew, something caught my line and pulled REALLY hard. I still caught it, but it wasn’t a fish - it was a funny looking guy in a red striped sweater and a hat. He seemed confused.

I heard that my cousin Bog was going around saying that he was me and being mean to people. I’m sorry about him. He’s been mean ever since we were kids. One time he tried to push one of my fishing buddies into the lake, so I had to throw Bog into it instead. I think he might still be mad at me…

I’m glad everything turned out ok… Our friends must be really tired, though. I wonder if there’s something we can do for them… 🐸RIBBET. Offer a discount on my plants? Good idea, buddy! They always help me relax, and some of our friends seem to like them too!

I guess Shadow really liked my cooking, because he invited me over to his house to make food for all of our friends. I’ve never been asked to cater a party before… what do you think I should make, Froggy? Fish sandwiches, or daal chaval and masala fried fish with green beans? 🐸RIBBET. Both? Ok!

Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings... One of Grimalditeuthis bonplandi's tentacle clubs is like a little squid hand puppet. They will flap it around, and would-be predators will think they are getting a tasty squid snack, when they really are going to be a snack for a squid. #SQUIDtember

A Grimalditeuthis bonplandi swimming in ocean without its tentacle extended. The squid is translucent with orange tinge, and is covered in yellow chromatophores. It has two sets of fins which are both flapping. The upper fins have more chromatophores. You can see some of its organs due to its translucent flesh.

A Grimalditeuthis bonplandi floating in the ocean with its "squid puppet" tentacle extended. The orange, thin tentacle is hanging straight down so you can't see the flappy bit at the end. The squid is translucent and covered in plenty of yellow chromatophores. You can see some of its organs due to its translucent flesh. It has two sets of fins. The upper fins have more chromatophores, while the lower ones have less so its more translucent.

A close up of Grimalditeuthis bonplandi swimming in ocean, focused on its "squid puppet" tentacle. The tentacle is thin and orange, with a flappy bit for a tentacle club. This flappy bit is meant to mimic a squid. The squid is a translucent with a yellow tentacle and yellow secondary fin.

A Grimalditeuthis bonplandi swimming downward. Its tentacle is not extended, and its arms are all together. It is slightly translucent, and is a slightly purple colour with its mantle being more white. There is a red line on its head going across and through its eye.

This black dragonfish (Idiacanthus sp.) was spotted at 527 meters (1,729 feet) in Monterey Bay. Black dragonfish are built for life in the darkness of the deep ocean. Their ultra-black skin helps them stay camouflaged from prey like fishes and crustaceans. 🐉🖤

Fishing at night is nice… the stars are above you AND below you. It takes some getting used to, though… you can’t see the float as well, so you have to rely on your feelings!
