I think it’s fun that all of the core id guys are now normal charming dorky dad types (Romero, Hall, Adrian Carmack) or ontologically evil freaks (John Carmack, Sandy) with American McGee, an ardent libertarian that now lives on a boat and makes plushies, somehow straddling the line.

The Mario thing and the "better more realistic visuals" in the post really scream to me that these guys have no idea how making graphics actually works either. Like you just ask the computer to make Mario and you can do that 10,000 times its easy

I think what helps is Amys compassion being used to show her intelligence and how she can resolve conflicts that Sonic can't. If they can find a way of leaning into that more it would really help sell her current characterisation

Yeah I think they nailed that one down in the short. They kinda do the same thing in sonic super stars with her helping trip and understand they're not enemies. It's kinda funny to think that if Amy was there in sonic 3 knuckles probably would have joined Sonic's side way sooner
