I follow my grandparents’ care home on Facebook and me & my sisters have a group message where we share the best photos they post and anyway I think I won this week.

I really need a day when I don’t visit Dan in hospital, but I don’t want him to be on his own all day, and given her recent behaviour I don’t want him to be with his mother all day either. So it’s tricky. There isn’t an easy solution.

I have to stay positive in front of Dan and I am literally at the hospital every waking hour of every day and it just doesn’t leave me with any time to have the breakdown I probably desperately need to have.

he’s had a flare-up this past week which has been fucking devastating, I woke up on Thursday morning to a *seven paragraph* message where she basically castigated me for not challenging his doctors more and implied that it wouldn’t have happened if she’d been here.

I mean, this sounds absurd but on the other hand my husband’s GP referred him for an endoscopy in April, marked the referral ‘urgent: suspected cancer’ & the local hospital’s ENT department downgraded the referral to routine without telling anyone. He was eventually offered an appointment in August.

Are you doing it yourself or through a pharmacist? We did a program through our local chemist and it really helped, getting the weekly positive reinforcement was a huge boost, as was having someone we could complain to when it was difficult.
