As someone who has a phobia of baboons, this thing is literally my worst nightmare! Great job though

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 2h

That was disgusting. Most flagrant unsportsmanlike riding I have seen since Capirossi (& either of his WC wins actually!)

Its interesting that (last race notwithstanding) the bike hasn't been anywhere near the front since they got busted. Also follows on from them being the only 'suspiciously fast Honda' team, a lot of people commenting on their bike's straight line speed. So that cheating ruling was not a surprise!

I really like Doctor Bimbu, but not sure I would want to be treated by him!

I am going to say, definitely more than a few parallels there 😄 Might be fun as a 'try and kill this' objective in a game but, like the ogre cheerleader, I don't think I would have the stomach to paint it!

Well, someone has done the impossible: made a miniature that's worse than 'ogre cheerleader' #nerdlings

This takes me back! Remember trying to hide valuables in your bag under other things so when you were killed & looted the person wouldn't take it 😅

It looks great - reminds me a bit of the M8 Scott, and looks less toy-like.

Yes and I have heard the safety briefings are very poorly attended. Riders don't have time because of medical treatment, team/marketing duties etc. Perhaps they could send their assistants to attend, and speak in their stead, would be one idea?

Definitely feels like a step back. The sport needs another Mike Trimby

Beautiful. I had a chance to have a go on one of these around Donington Park recently and chickened out, wish I had done now.

Speaking as a meat sack (or potato sack) I can absolutely say with certainty you are a long way from that Holly. This sounds like a dark time, but the sun will rise again & a brighter day tomorrow tomorrow perhaps.

That would probably have a greater chance of turning out successfully for you...

Yes I remember! Someone always came off during the break. You put up with it as they had that great commentary team

230 0

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Yes it is. I think its the new reality of Liberty-owned motogp. If you ever go to an NFL game the level of commercialisation is brutal - there isn't a single empty space or moment of time that isn't used for making money. I'm just waiting for add-break pauses now during a race...

Custom #Konflikt47 pin markers. Have made these for each unit in my force; the first two, wounded Stahltruppen, and hiding/ambushing Nachtalben #nerdlings

A Nachtalben hides/retreats into an oil barrel. A tyre, wooden box and jerry can are piled near the barrels.

Axis Stalhtruppen under fire - trying to raise his army to protect himself. Unfortunately, he is already minus an arm.

@retrogamermag.bsky.social @retrogamerdaz.bsky.social if you are after article ideas, "the strange case of Mean Machines issue 16" 😄

010 0

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I paid just over that for issue 1, a couple of others close to it! These things were basically the Sacred Texts for me & friends when we were young, they have tremendous nostalgia value (at least that is how I justify it! 😄)

Ok that is interesting to know! I did think with that cover it would probably have been one of the better sellers. It could just be one nutter has put it on for £120 and then that has dictated price for other people listing it..

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Question to the #RetroGaming community - anyone know why this one issue (16) of Mean Machines always seems to be insanely expensive? Last one needed to get the full set, even issues 1 or 2 you can get for £20-30, this one rarely drops below £100 🤷‍♂️

Am ebay listing of Mean Machines 16 (UK). Features Star Wars artwork and a human hand holding the magazine.

My take on it (as a 100% unbiased observer 🙂) is Digi was tiny fractions slow turning into turn 1 for some reason. Marc then had to check up ever so slightly, which caused Bez to as well & the crash happened. Probably a few inches in it, but there was absolutely no room for manoeuvre.

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

He does seem to have a habit of the seas parting in front of him 🙂 We used to joke about Rossi having a death ray that knocked people in front out of the way, think he may have passed it on to Marc!

010 0

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Yes I mentioned a penalty as it would have indicated some blame there. I have seen plenty of examples of Marc pushing (or going beyond) acceptable riding, but don't think that was one of them. Think this was the perils of turn 1 when that top 9-10 guys know their only podium chance is risking it.

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Very eventful race! Shame about the first corner, but I thought a racing incident. The riders know the race is usually settled after half a lap as overtaking is so difficult, so cannot blame them for no-one giving way.

010 0

Filbert Wang @filbertwang.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

As much as Marc has been a wrecking-ball at different times in his career, I think what was just five bikes trying to occupy the same piece of track, and just very unfortunate for Bez and Raul as the end two dominos. I will be surprised if Crafar hands out any penalties, but wait and see I guess

Is there much of a community keeping Gorkamorka going? You see a lot for Mordheim, BFG, Epic versions etc but I haven't for that game (although must admit these minis make me want to look!)

Fair bit of painting still to do but working on some Konflikt 47 pinning markers. They will have a number dial & are themed for the different units in my Axis force
