I don't have any notifications for it :( maybe they're just really delayed? Or maybe I've never gotten a notification from someone tagging me there 😱 can you send me a link to the post?

That's me! I just don't update it very often 😅

If I had a nickel for every time that someone submitted a replacement link for a filament that just added their affiliate tag to the URL, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it _is_ weird that it's happened twice.

It's hundreds of different IPs that all look like legit browsers in terms of user agents... and I'm not concerned about VPNs, it's really just that I only have one server. I'm thinking about just standing up anubis in front of the non-API routes

Filament Librarian @filamentcolors.xyz · 13/09/2026

Cool. It started again. Cool cool cool. Every hit is different. I don't know how I'm supposed to block this.

120 2

Filament Librarian @filamentcolors.xyz · 11/09/2026

Unfortunately, it worked perfectly. The unique user count dropped back to what I expected, and we've been holding steady there. Bleh. I'll disable the attack mode blockade here shortly; hopefully that was enough to convince this round of bots to leave us alone.

A graph showing the number of unique visitors to filamentcolors.xyz spiking up to 150 an hour sustained and then dropping suddenly back to 10 an hour.

150 5

Filament Librarian @filamentcolors.xyz · 11/09/2026

I don't like doing this, because it cuts off legitimate users too. The internet has always been an unfriendly place, but the extreme proliferation of "AI" companies scraping everything they can get their hands on has real consequences for little guys like me. We're just out here doing our best.

271 7

Filament Librarian @filamentcolors.xyz · 11/09/2026

For the past 48 hours-ish, we've been getting 5x our normal traffic, and it's mostly scrapers and bots pretending to be real users. If you use the API, you may see a block page from Cloudflare; I've enabled 'under attack' mode for a little while to see if the number of requests goes down.
