Devastated to learn that my favourite facebook page Jokers World - once dedicated to truly woeful edgelord images of Joker and superman overlayed with brooding, mysterious victim quotes - has transformed into an AI food page. I had a long thread of them on twitter back in the day. Shame.

Schrader subsequently told The Hollywood Reporter that he plans to go considerably further than using AI for visual effects or isolated sequences. He intends to populate the entire movie with “AI-generated human prototypes” rather than recognizable actors. “Those jobs are gone, babe,” Schrader said while discussing Hollywood’s resistance to generative AI. “You can scream ‘Stop AI’ all you want, but you can’t stop it.”

But speaking this weekend with The Playlist in Venice following the premiere of “The Basics of Philosophy,” Schrader offered a much more revealing explanation for how “Three Guns At Dawn” reached that point.

“I had originally written it about three Black brothers, all of whom are bad guys: a corrupt cop, a drug dealer, and a sexual criminal,” Schrader explained. “And they were all trying to kill each other. And Antoine Fuqua was going to produce it.”

According to Schrader, he and Fuqua then approached actors with the project and ran into a fundamental problem.

“We sent it out to actors, and no Black actors wanted to play in a movie where there are no good Black people,” he said. “And it sort of died. But then AI came along, and I didn’t need Black actors.”

Asked if that meant he would create the actors himself, Schrader replied, “We’re making them!” He also confirmed that AI will generate everything in the film.

It's been a while since I've read a book series that's made me twice buy the next book in the series right after the final pages. Excellent Sci-Fi. Red Rising is a bit of a tropey "Hunger Games 40k", for better & worse, but Darrow is very compelling series protagonist, & the 2nd book is riveting.

So the original story this is based on is a man marries a woman with a golden arm, and when she dies, he robs her grave for it, and she comes back as a ghost to haunt him for the act of grave robbing. Having the golden arm, and her refusal to remove it, be the reason she's dying changes it to this:
