Kate May Ver @fiddlesqueak.bsky.social · 14/03/2025The Great Gatsby was published on April 10, 1925. I decided to reread it in honour of the anniversary. I found a version at my local Half Price Books. There’s a reason why it’s half price! It has two identical chapter 2s! And then it skips from page 37 to page 54. 🙄 #booksky 070

Kate May Ver @fiddlesqueak.bsky.social · 03/03/2025Just a reminder, if you need one, to take a break from scrolling, eat a healthy meal, stretch, take a stroll if you can, listen to the birds, look at something beautiful. We need you for the long haul, it’s okay to walk away once in awhile. 011
Kate May Ver @fiddlesqueak.bsky.social · 21/02/2025Dystopian tale about grown men, running roughshod over common values, recklessly destroying everything in their path, seeking petty revenge through bald use of power and violence; I think I’ll title it “Lord of the Fries.” 010
Kate May Ver @fiddlesqueak.bsky.social · 21/12/2024I did my best to get through Mink River. I really did. The sentences are poetry. As a novel, I can’t get past “what the eff? Is this a short story collection? A novel? More like Spoon River Anthology, but longer and annoying?” I surrender. It’s headed for the library book sale. 000
