Inque's retro PC aesthetic is the Hercules monochrome graphics adapter. (Even black and white needed an expensive video card in the early 80s.) Monitors were green or amber, typically, and rarely used for anything other than VisiCalc. Gaming was coming up, but pie charts mattered more.

Zephyr's retro PC aesthetic is the generally reviled yet delightful CGA 4-color from the early 80s, before PCs were taken seriously as gaming machines. Eye-searingly bright colors like red, green, and yellow! Or more commonly, purple and cyan... meaning IBM was unknowingly a champion of trans pride.

You can see the style in most late 90s educational games, with delightfully cartoony pixel art in games like Sierra's the Island of Doctor Brain. FMV characters were common once CDs became normal, such as in MYST. We did the grainy compression by actually saving it as a GIF, which is 256 colors!
