I have now started the audiobook of EWSY by Tom Cox @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social Justin Avoth has a voice like a dark,oak panelled country pub warmed by a real fire on a cold clear winter afternoon. If pubs could speak, and I bet they do in private. Absolutely gorgeous and so, so right for this.

Until I was about 10 the library was in the Mechanics Institute, a huge Victorian pile with big old bookshelves like the best 2nd hand bookshops have, and I LOVED IT! Then they built the new library to one side, never quite the same, but still full of books and I spent a lot of time there.

My mate is sending me chilly vibes pictures of her dog walks on the Sleat Peninsula in the Isle of Skye. Last night around 7.30 it was 19C, there was MIST. In Oxfordshire it was still around 30C. I DREAM of MIST.

Here in Oxfordshire there are quite a lot, I love to watch them drift overhead. This year there is a pair living nearby, they are very vocal at particular times of day I notice. We aren't sure if they have a nest, but hope so. It feels a privilege to see them up close - here's one of 'ours'

These take ages to make but I love making them. Inspired by my local landscape this is the ancient chalk Uffington White Horse. This pot pulled itself apart in the kiln so I did some kintsugi to put it together and, somehow, it just adds to it. #ArtAdventCalendar #ukpotter #handbuiltpottery
