FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 12/06/2023I regret to inform you that Twitter is currently pulling more interactions with more interesting conversations surrounding them. I'm not giving up on you yet Bluesky. 120
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 10/06/2023No more shelf exams, time to start writing longer format ish (and continue studying for Step in 11 days) 020
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 08/06/2023Early on I had a lot of drive here that came from a higher amount of interaction with my posts and replies than I was experiencing on Twitter. This has fallen off, but I continue to post things here. I'm going to experimentally cross-post some of these and compare interaction rates. 020
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 08/06/2023As long as you don't know that I'm using those fancy-sounding words incorrectly it doesn't really matter, right? 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 08/06/2023Me integrating the knowledge from over 2,000 flashcards per day. Merging a pantheonic knowledge of our medical frameworks and how they push and pull the tides of your life towards your eventual expiration. All just so I can get better at multiple choice questions. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 07/06/2023Some of you seem to just live in hellthread. Once you're in is it possible to escape? 000
Reposted by FHuxFHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023Another day, another close call with hellthread 121
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 07/06/2023I want all the babies Fill my house with snarky instantiations of myself and my wife. 120
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 07/06/2023May all your efforts for today be watched over by this ancient warrior good boi. Give him scritches and he will grant you part of his endless energy stores to achieve your goals. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 07/06/2023I didn't open the link, but it had some prepared playlist set up. Can't let the robots control what robot music I listen to. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 06/06/2023"Thalassophonea, a clade of short-necked pliosaurid plesiosaurs" What a collection of words. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 06/06/2023I still await the liopleurodon that will show me the way. Until then, I wait. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 06/06/2023I get the Vision Pro hype. I went in very skeptical and ended up thinking to myself, "$3,500 is pretty reasonable." If it works 80% as well as the unveiling video suggests that thing is going to be wild. Just gotta get these med school loans under control first. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 06/06/2023Got outside, snorted some grass, now back to the knowledge dungeons 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023Some of you have never taken a 1,000,000 watt wub bath and it shoes. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023So then I decided, as a rationalist, that the best use of my time and intellect would be arguing about ancient firmly entrenched strongly held beliefs from esoteric historical documents on anonymous web forums 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023So this place is slowing down because people aren't posting. I am people. I can start posting more. I'm currently in a studying hellhole, but I will do my part. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023This was actually after she'd forcibly left the NICU the night before to smoke a cigarette and negotiated a 15-minute return policy w/ the charge nurse. (NSICU director was really angry about that one) We knew it was a barrier to her care, we knew she would discharge, we could do nothing. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023I'll never forget the woman who discharged from the Neuro ICU two days after she'd had emergency brain surgery because we couldn't coordinate a way for her to leave, smoke a cigarette, and come back into the ICU. 100
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 05/06/2023My hot take is that we should let patients vape in hospitals so that they don't discharge against medical advice to go smoke a cigarette on the sidewalk and then have to readmit themselves to the hospital 110
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023I actually had cut out the 'well' for character count. I'd wager that 80%+ of psychiatrists and even more emergency psychiatrists have 'rule out autoimmune etiology' on their differential for these conditions. 110
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023I like to think we're at a phase similar to germ-theory realization. We're just now getting the tools and technologies that allow for the realization and mapping of true psychopathologic etiologies. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023While the story is nice, it's also a bit overhyped. Encephalitis secondary to lupus and other autoimmune conditions is a known phenomenon and something that should be screened for during any patient intake with new-onset psychosis. Worth reviewing for prior incorrect diagnoses, but not new/novel. 110
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023I like when I discover that some of us live in the same city, then dislike that my opsec disallows me from bridging the gap. 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023Brain inserted a 'for' when reading. The current model of this place in my mind is apparently still locked on people code hunting. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023Sometimes I forget this place is still a walled garden until I look over and see my lil tickets burning away 010
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023'Cigarettes & Coffee' carries a certain mystique and hard working respectability that 'Kiwi-Strawberry Vapes & Coffee' will never measure up to. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023“Man becomes, as it were, the sex organs of the machine world, as the bee of the plant world, enabling it to fecundate and to evolve ever new forms." And now, after 58 years of foreplay and teasing, the machines have begun skeeting. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023My close call for the day was nearly commented on the hell thread. The only thing that stopped me was trying to figure out how a thread about Trader Joes somehow turned into a discussion about Vyvanse and stumbling across a warning. 020
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 02/06/2023One day I'll actually read all these articles and summaries that my attendings sent me. For now, they all live in one hell window on Chrome and haunt my moments of calm removal from medical work. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 01/06/2023What people really seem to love is being safe and convincing themselves that they're in grave danger. I find that those who are actually in unsafe situations have a much more realistic assessment of their true risk and find some internal peace/awareness with that while the others hyperventilate. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 01/06/2023I enjoy posting here more, but I've found myself in some weird local minimum where my feed is mostly Berduck and other conversations that don't really drag me in. I haven't found a good way to solve this problem. But it's good for productivity. 100
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 01/06/2023Those who seek to remain illegible should seek careers in 'unknowledge worker' fields. Spend all day ingesting anti-flashcards designed to obliviate information. Work to reduce the informational content of all spaces with suspiciously low entropy. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 01/06/2023While I feel that it's accurate, describing myself as a 'knowledge worker' feels so pretentious that it almost hurts. 000
FHux @fhux.bsky.social · 31/05/2023If you ever need the dopamine rush of notifications you can just talk to the duck and get all the good feels. This is the life hack that they don't want you to know about. 010
