* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Little Colorado River near Birdsprings is
occurring. Deadly flooding over low-water crossings.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1241 PM MST /141 PM MDT/, water levels on the Little Colorado
River at Winslow have fallen below Action Stage and will continue
to recede. Flooding will remain a threat downstream of Winslow in
Birdsprings. Water levels at Birdsprings are expected to peak
around 9 PM MST /10 PM MDT/, and begin to recede around 11 PM MST
/midnight MDT/.
- For Little Colorado at Winslow:
At 12:00pm MST /1:00pm MDT/ the stage was 15.99 feet.
Flood Stage is 19.0 feet.
Impacts:
At 17.0 feet: Downstream, the approaches to the bridge over the
river on Navajo Route 71 near Bird Springs will flood, and Leupp
will be within 3 feet of flooding problems. Minor lowland
overflow on right bank at Winslow.

Flooding will remain a threat downstream of Winslow in the

- For Little Colorado at Winslow:
At 7:00am MST /8:00am MDT/ the stage was 17.33 feet.
Impacts:
At 17.0 feet: the approaches to the bridge over the river on
Navajo Route 71 near Birdsprings will flood, and Leupp will be
within 3 feet of flooding problems. The river will crest at
Navajo Route 71 approximately 18 hours after the river crests at
Winslow. Minor lowland overflow on right bank at Winslow.

At 337 AM MST /437 AM MDT/, a few hours ago, a river gauge on the
Paria River in Utah reported a rapid rise of 4.47 feet from heavy
rain over the Paria River, and has started to decrease a couple of
feet. This means the flood wave is currently moving through the Paria
River within Arizona. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash
flooding in and around the Paria River.

* At 152 AM MST, a river gauge on Granite Creek in Prescott reported
a rapid rise of 4 feet from thunderstorms producing heavy rain in
Granite Creek River Gauge. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have
fallen recently. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive and long duration rainfall.

* WHERE...All of northern and central Arizona.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Flooding will be possible over burn areas, low-water
crossings, creeks, streams, washes and swimming holes. Larger
creeks and rivers may exceed bankfull. Flooding of paved roads and
highway underpasses will be possible. Unpaved roads could become
muddy and impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Low pressure will interact with tropical moisture from the
eastern Pacific. This could potentially produce numerous showers
and embedded thunderstorms, with heavy rain that will fall over
saturated soils and burn scars. This could lead to localized
flash flooding and rises on local rivers, such as the Little
Colorado River.
