You will never create your truest #art if your focus is on the approval of others

An artwork with a fluorescent yellow background and freehand ovals digitally hand painted in other fluorescent colors using a wet brush look.

Digital artwork depicting “raining colors” using a chalk-style brush in various shades of blue, green, red, pink, and yellow.

A geometric artwork in varying shades of blue featuring triangles, squares, circles, along with a few gold lines.

An abstract artwork based on a box of Sicilian desserts in brown, red, light blue, and more.

#art of the day This is from my Raining Colors series, but this particular artwork was intended as a tribute to Akira Toriyama after he passed - the drips use the classic colors of his famed character Goku from Dragon Ball Z. #abstractart

The background of the artwork features clouds and the foreground features drips of paint using the colors of the character Goku from the Dragon Ball Z anime. The artwork was created as a tribute to DBZ creator Akira Toriyama when he passed away.

This photo depicts the decaying remains of a ship that brought refugees from North Africa to Europe. At the time, the ship was on display in front of a refugee camp in Sicily but was removed during the pandemic when the camp replaced African refugees with Ukrainian refugees. #photography #potd

From “Being Human” chapter 2… [Also, I hope the “no AI” thing was about not writing using AI and not about sci-fi stories involving AI 🤣] #amwriting #writingshare

The image features the following text:

“At my present rate of decay, I have less than three months until the ceasing of my life functions. That was the delicate way my situation was described to me. Payment for my years of service, I suppose.”

Michelle put her hand on Alice’s. The feeling of being consoled swept over Alice. It made her angry. She pulled her hand away.

“Please eat and drink. It will make things far more pleasant for you.”

“I don’t need to. I’m not one of you.”

Perhaps Ms. Collins—First names are for friends. Machines don’t have friends.—felt a pang of guilt over her deception as she silently rose from her seat, turned her back on Alice, and walked out of the room.

Maybe that’s why she suggested the surgery to shut down Alice’s pain sensors.

The science team complied. They wanted to make the rest of Alice’s time as comfortable as possible. At least, that was the official reason.

Unofficially, they just wanted to see if they could do it.

I block people who reply to headlines without reading the article. Also, editors need to avoid clickbait headlines and tell us what the article is actually about. There, I made everyone mad. Have a day. Follow for more hot takes (but mostly #photography #art and #writing). For your time:

An abstract artwork from my Connections series containing freehand rectangles of varying sizes in red, orange, and yellow with each color draw with a single line.

Did you know that Agrigento is Italy’s cultural capital for 2025? One the top reasons is the presence of incredible historical sites like Valle dei Templi. #photography #photographer #lightroomedits #blackandwhite
