Vanilla SF4 Gief was pretty silly. In vanilla AE Yun and Yang were considered war crime characters, you just saw Yun a lot more by top players overall in that era.

It depends on the perception, I think a lot of people equate fighting games as "tryhard" in the public sphere, while back then we didn't care about stuff like that unless we were exposed to it. The vs games were definitely getting your favorite characters and letting them rock among casual friends.

I do think Tokon has a lot of mechanics that help on board people to get running, and as a crazy fighter you can do the cool stuff a lot easier than say Street Fighter. Just keep chasing that high if you enjoy it. There's plenty to learn since it's new, people are finding a lot of stuff.

I wanted to watch this from my anime friend who would copy hella anime to his own tapes and distributed them to friends. Sadly I was apparently the only guy who returned the tapes we borrowed consistently :( But he was a huge proponent of me watching a lot of anime in high school!

Reasons probably Saudi money? Characters needing mainly models, story content is mostly text and a few images, voice acting done way in advance. Stages are nice but have 30 fps if there are animations. I'm actually pretty curious myself of their content pipeline and how much was done in advance.

That's awesome! So there are a lot of anime/game related figures and statues at many price points. Only thing holding them back is tariffs, but they even make some decent quality ones at the $30-50 usd range. The 700 and up statue range is not the norm at all haha

They make these because there's a market for them, and they tend to do preorders to know exactly how much they make haha. It's cool to see people making them but more power to the people who can afford it.
