In 2014, Marvel released two wildly different films that each redefined the MCU — The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Thunderbolts* builds on both traditions. Equal parts oddball and essential, it may be the most recognizably Marvel film since Endgame. It’s also one of the boldest.

With all the fun of the Ultimate and Absolute books, there’s still something special about an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man that really sings.

Yep, one of my favorite ASM issues of the last few years. I knew that @pepelarraz.bsky.social would knock it out of the park, but I can’t get over how beautiful this book is. And @thatjoekelly.bsky.social matches it with just the right amount of heart and humor.

There’s a subtlety in prior Cap entries (even in Falcon & Winter Soldier) that’s unfortunately lost here. And it can sometimes feel like you’re watching scenes from different movies stitched together. But the core ingredients are there, and I’m already looking forward to more time with Sam Wilson.

#CaptainAmerica:BraveNewWorld is one of Marvel’s more uneven entries to date. Mackie and Ford are predictably great. Carl Lumbly and Danny Ramirez are standouts as Isaiah Bradley and Joaquin Torres. And the action is fun all around. But a weak script and rough editing job weigh the film down.

I know that it’s a superficial thing, but that Doc Ock design still makes me really happy. #YourFriendlyNeighborhoodSpider-Man

Gotta say I did not have Spider-Man: Identity Crisis on my 2025 Marvel Adaptations bingo card.
