There's this thing in asia, Tibet, called བྱ་གཏོར་ "Sky Burial". It's somewhat impressive that a thing considered utterly macabre here, is, after careful considerations, the most wise act regarding our relationship with nature. Note: it's the act of letting our own corpse being devoured by nature.

What you're about to see is the trailer of "Cockfighter", 1974 by Monte Hellman. With an astonishing performance by Warren Oates. The occasion to mention the excellent book by the brilliant @kierlajanisse.bsky.social. www.kierlajanisse.com/2024/06/27/c... #Movies #Film #Films #Grindhouse #Movie

The other hell's soundtrack is so damn good, the Goblin put aside there so many good stuff by Riz Ortolani, Fabio Frizzi and the overlooked Carlo Rustichelli. Happy #recordstoreday!

Indeed, and there was a super duper (10) limited edition with a doll I missed but it sounds pretty cool. Almost as cool as the Fulci doll. Btw I used to have a monthly sub to your buymeacoffee account, I doesn't work anymore - don't know why, technical stuff -, I'll subscribe again. Have a good week

¡Que viva México! is an unfinished Serguei Eisenstein Mosfilm films reconstructed in 1979. It is a documentary about Mexico, about politics, history and culture. Jay Leda called it "the greatest Eisenstein plan". Here's the first minute. #FilmSky #Cinema #Mexico #Film

"¡Vámonos con Pancho Villa!" by Fernando de Fuentes, 1936 is a classic Mexican movie, sometimes consider one of the finest Mexican movies, and the best depiction of the Mexican revolution. It is, to me, a film any cinema enthusiast should experience. Here is the first minute. #FilmSky #Mexico

"Giallo a Venezia" aka "Giallo in venice" by Mario Landi, 1979. At the end of the 1979, it is highly focused on sexuality and perversion, with some hardcore elements. The uncut print we have today was discovered by chance in a dentist attic in Portugal. #FilmSky #Giallonuary #Film #Cinema

I missed it back then, very interesting article! A. Braude and Freud, amazing. The Wicker Man in the first three lines, that's heavy artillery. Thanks for those lines. On a side note, Gallimard released a fab book about real Zombis, following an exhibit, perhaps that's right up your alley.

I'm glad that the movie gained a cult status over the years, it's the perfect adaptation of the comic book. The 90s were perfect times to release this film. I saw it in theater as a teen what a blast. What a soundtrack!

Love Jean Rollin, I met him once, he was so fascinating. With George Franju, he's perhaps my two French horror legends. Oddly, Les Amours jaunes is perhaps the Rollin film I watch the most, because of the original poem. His memoirs is a wonderful book.
