As our heartfelt book on women ghosts is still finding kindred spirits, just a little nighttime reminder that it's not only Women's History Month but #WomenInHorrorMonth, what a GREAT time to read A HAUNTED HISTORY OF INVISIBLE WOMEN: TRUE STORIES OF AMERICA'S GHOSTS linktr.ee/ahauntedhist... #WiHM
Trade paperback book sitting on a granite graveyard stair, showcasing the cover for A HAUNTED HISTORY OF INVISIBLE WOMEN: TRUE STORIES OF AMERICA'S GHOSTS by Leanna Renee Hieber and Andrea Janes, the cover is white and lavender-pink text on black background with filigree tracery around the top and bottom with the center being a 19th century photograph manipulation of a sequential iterations of a woman in a Nun's habit seeming to 'disappear' through the stone wall of a church she is in the foreground of. Taken by an anonymous photographer, the image has remained famous, the piece is titled "The Ghost of Bernadette Soubirous (1890)"

Íde “of March” Hennessy @ideofmarch.bsky.social · 02/03/2025
💀💅🏻📖 March is #womeninhorror month (and my birthday month🎈), so here’s my intro post w/ my weird face! I write cosmic horror, weird horror, and sci-fi horror (+ just sci-fi - don’t hate me). I lean more toward supernatural and societal horror than gore in my writing, though I try to read all kinds.📚☠️
“Women in Horror Month” next to a woman’s hands with claw nails. Below, a “HELLO my name is” sticker design that reads “Íde Hennessy. My fiction has appeared in Strange Horizons, Cosmic Horror Monthly, Ihe Off-Season, Reckoning, & more, and you can pre-order my long fiction debut from Tenebrous Press. Split Scream: Off the Map comes out 3/27, and has been described by reviewers as evoking 'the atmospheric quality of David Lynch's work, that sense of shadow and darkness that is both void and also pulsing with life.' Thanks for reading!”

My heart is breaking! Full disclosure, Michelle Trachtenberg was my very first girl crush. I honor her not only for her incredible work in BTVS, Gossip Girl and 17 Again, but for those blue eyes awakening my little queer heart. 🏳️‍🌈

Call it masking, call it assimilation, call it fear. We are all from a very young age taking cues on what's okay to be or do. We take it from hushed voices, confused looks, we take it from absence of exposure. To silence ourselves is to carry a permanent pain.
