I am currently organising my digital archive and found this funny game cover which I made for my first game jam back in 2018 (?) which was hosted by Brackeys - good times. We didn't manage to finish in time though :/ #GameDev #GameJam #GameArt

We did a little music theory game for the #GlobalGameJam2026 where you have to listen and determine the right relations between harmonies played. Give it a try: fernofai.itch.io/royal-anthem...

Got about a third of #inktober before motivation died :/ I feel like it's really hard to come up with creative ideas for this year's prompts.

I attended #devcom2025 and #gamescom2025 for the first time this year. Still need to gain more confidence talking to people, but apart from that I learned a lot of valuable things and discovered some great games I want to delve into.

Apart from developing games I started to write reviews about every game I finished playing since 2022, which adds up to over 50 reviews at this point: ggapp.io/fernofai This helps me to play games mindfully and have an eye open for clever design, recurring patterns and interesting ideas.

There's a psychologist who attempted to define the source of enjoyment. He said: "Enjoyment is part of a state called 'flow'". 'Flow' is that sweetspot between boredom and anxiety where a person's skill is perfect for the challenge. This can be translated to games, and I think it's true!
