I'm sorry, Fëor. He could see it in her eyes as she tightened the grip on her spear. It wasn't hesitation. She had made up her mind instantly. Valýría always trusted her instincts, never wavering or overthinking. It was her greatest strength. But that didn't mean her choices were always easy. It didn't mean she could evade regret. After all, this decision was already haunting her. He saw the glimmer of a star upon her cheek before Várnos, who seamlessly sensed her intentions, bared his fangs anew. In the blink of her eye, Valýría thrust her spear towards the captain, who responded by brining his bright blade down towards Fëor's neck.
