I'm right there with you. Just gathered the Besties only to be met with a Servers Offline screen 🪦 Disappointed! Still excited though 🥲

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Hang in there! I recommend giving it a shot tomorrow still, though can't blame you if you're just turned off by this. Unfortunately this is classic Bungie, but server issues don't represent the quality of their games as a whole. I hope you give it a go later!

It's time to take a break from content creation and make some things for myself.

After a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to take a hiatus. I know it seems sudden, and I'd have done a stream to share more details but I've just not had to time to do so, nor will I for a while as I am taking a trip out of town to visit family in just a few hours. So this will have to do!

I have a few reasons for this hiatus:
My creative energy is focused on music currently
I've not had any ideas for content that excites me lately
My free time is currently limited with upcoming moves, trips, shows, etc and I don't want to burn out

I fully plan to return, however I don't have a timeframe on when yet.

I have greatly appreciated your support over the last 12 years and the most recent 3 have been such a blast! From making new friends with new communities, to Gil for The Kupo, to celebrating people graduating school, becoming professional artists, bravely moving to new locations, growing communities of their own, opening up their hearts to others for the first time, discovering their identities, refusing to give up on themselves, and setting good examples of what it means to show up as our authentic selves while accepting others for theirs...I am truly proud to know such an immensely kind community of people. Thank you for being a part of my life, a part of each other's lives, and for letting me be a part of yours. You will always have a home here.

In the meantime! I encourage you all to keep connecting here. Reach out to each other. Remember that it's you that make this place what it is. Not me. Not the Keepers. It's all of you. So help one another, and don't neglect yourselves while doing so. Make sure you keep having fun and sharing what you love with each other too! Sharing hardships is important, but celebrating our wins together is just as important. They're bigger than you think, and they matter. You matter. We're all in this together.

Keep your heads up and your hearts strong, Fencers! And to my oldest friends here... We are LLG! 💪 💙

New Eidola single is insane. What the hell happened to make this go so damn HARD? Oh, they're on 3DOT and Many Hats Distribution (Periphery's label) How fitting 🤘🏼

It's such an awesome game! One of my new favorites 🙌🏼 The photo mode inclusion is great. Wild it wasn't there at launch.

Still love to see you appreciating Vexx. I really don't know anybody IRL that's played it!

I was gonna post about Final Fantasy but my feed is flooded (wonderfully so) with NASA Artemis II coverage and the crew's speeches. Literally nothing else feels like it matters right now 🩵

Oooo I love it! This DLC was so much of what we asked for and lots of what we didn't, and I'm so happy about that haha. This mode is so cool!

Really into my "your job is work you do, not who you are" arc. Taking an extra day or two for me this week after working through hella depression and brain fog the last two weeks. Mental health work really takes a toll sometimes.

Learning new games is fun. Sometimes you have to unlearn a lot of habits in order to do it, but it's pretty cool that humans can do that.

Everyone trying to board the UESC Marathon right now, what part of this message did you get? We all got different pieces of it.

I know, I know, I'm talking about Marathon a lot, but it's so dang fun. I love when bro holds the door for me.

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 11/03/2026

Imagine if movies were rated the same way video games are: "Man, I knew Kpop Demon Hunters was gonna suck." "what do you mean?" "Look at their current viewer count. It's been in decline since opening week." "Wow, it must be in trouble" "Dead movie. Nobody's watching"

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

Haha me too. It's so good with buddies too. Always somewhere to improve or cool little objectives and lore to discover. Did you see the weird revival mural in Dire Marsh!? Got me so curious!

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

I'm not sure why people care so much about the numbers behind a game's performance when they either don't play it or aren't interested in the game. Especially to the degree that they'll cherry pick stuff to fit a narrative. In a world of many live service games, the numbers check out fine imo!

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

People out here trying to talk about Marathon being bad or dead based on Steam player count is just goofy. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's excellent enough to get my extraction-shooter-hating ass to not only play it, but count the hours until I can play it again each day. It's quality, man.

pcgamer.com

As the Marathon player count discourse reaches peak stupidity, Warframe and Overwatch devs speak up in solidarity: 'This is big unemployed, maidenless behavior'

'I tend to just laugh about SteamDB being used as a mic drop'.

This game is genuinely fun even when you die, honestly For an extraction shooter, a genre I have no experience in, I think it's a good entry point! I'm having fun anyway

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 06/03/2026

Man I love it too. My first extraction shooter as well. Dying doesn't necessarily feel like a "loss" to me as it's just part of the game and you still accomplish objectives despite being eliminated. Everything feels like a lesson learned and that's pretty cool!

Damn dude, I have been there. That's such a shitty feeling and when it hits it's like "...well wtf do I do now?" I hope this passes because you have flourished in a lot of ways doing this. You deserve happiness, man, whatever it looks like. You can do anything. Anything I can do to support you?

Hmmm... Yeah and Ds4 is great and all, but like you said, it's disappointing to have to use it. I've only tried it with Steam games so no wonder I haven't run into your issue D: Have you tried adding your non-Steam games into your Steam library? That should work according to this:

Fencechild on Tau Ceti IV @fencechild.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

That's odd. I connect mine via Bluetooth and it works like a dream. The latest Dualsense update let's you flip between PC and console just by holding the PS button + a face button too so I never even have to plug in unless I'm charging. What issue are you having?

Cronos: The New Dawn is such a cool horror game. What started as something I was unsure of quickly became a horror masterpiece that takes nods from horror legends such as Dead Space, Silent Hill 2, and Resident Evil. This game is full of clever twists and fun surprises. This Easter egg was awesome!
