More car shenanigans this morn. got in since I got it back, and its complains the left light is faulty again including the rapid flasher warning from the indicator. went to sainsburgs, still issue, got back home. same issue. on way to get squirl his jabs, starting working. went to dealer..

And the car is back and its been washed! New light module and the entire software stack has been updated. Lets see how things go now!

Squirl is suffering this week.Not only is he still suffering with gut pain due to gas/constipation. But its chemo week and the anti nausea meds need to step up some as he's not well today.

Dealer called. They want to keep car over night to allow all the software updates to be done. Also, they need to order a new left rear light cluster/module as well. So that may/not be here tomorrow, they need to check and let me know.

Ok, so the car is at the dealer. It is now the time of waiting as they may need tomorrow as well to do what they need to do. I guess as I'm driving a server farm on wheels it has a lot of modules that need updates.

I spent my half hour riding Dolly on my own today, unsupervised! reason was one of the staff was taking out a pony, and apparently this one got very excited and she took a hoof to the head. she was wearing her helmet and we think she's okay (she was being taken home with a large icepack on head)

Well, need to talk to the Mercedes Dealer tomorrow. the car randomly detects the left rear brake, turn, reverse etc as having failed.. only for it to fix itself by the time we get home. I suspect there is some oddness going on with the comms between the tail unit and the ECUs

Had a call.. Dougie will be 'back' at the stables from Thursday. I'll pick him up when I go there sunday and bring him home. He can rest next to Henry horse.

For the moment, going to just do one riding lesson a week (sunday) - mostly to keep myself in use and will switch back to more once I've found another horse. I am going to find another but its only been a week.

Trying to distract self by backing up photos on phone to Mac n it’s stopped syncing to Photos app. Suspect it’s due to me not formatting my external ssd in a journable format. So backing drive to NAS n will format the drive then copy stuff back.

Difficult to write this. Dougie was put to sleep this morning. Having wrestled with his condition and trying our very best, vets, stables and myself - we all felt it was best as it would have gotten worse. We had 3 years with him and he was the best. I'm devastated and going to miss him so much.

We did nip out to pick up more coffee beans from Hot Numbers and to have coffee n cake. we did nip into the Dobbies garden centre right near there and it's not a good one at all. squirl picked up a 3 plants, 2 climbers.. a new watering can, but we won't be going there again.

As there is an event on at the stables, there is no stables time today. I'll go see Dougs on tues as the vet wants to see him since the scan. I am supposed to be riding Dolly again on Tuesday eve. I expect Tues will give us a decision and where we go from there.

Finally spoken to the vet. She wants to see Doug's on tuesday, so I need to book that in on monday. I think we've both come to a decision that we need to do whats best for Doug. I guess I will need these two weeks off sick.

The doc's really don't make things easy. Trying to sort out a sick note for the next 2 weeks (talked to boss and he suggested that) but as I'm still 'working' I have to self sign monday for the week, then on the following week re-apply for a sick note via them to get the 2nd. its making my head pop.

Well finally got the text report from the RVC, along with a download link for the CT images (which need their own application to be viewed in!) not looked at the images, thats more for my vet. I suspect I will speak to them tomorrow.

It made a change to ride a different horse tonight. Dolly has her quirks but we figured them out and got her moving. She was harder work than doug's but once she's in work mode, she doesn't mess about (not like my cheeky boy) - I very much enjoyed riding her. It also distracted me!!
