(pulled this from epic's announcement post) Who is this even for? Did their c-suite really say "oh people will switch away from steam if our launcher launches faster"?! seeing one of the last major employers in games essentially saying "we hate and don't want to pay our employees!" this sucks 😖

Nah, Unity is owned by someone else but equally as terrible. And you're totally correct about Epic. They've got a whole suite of new "features" and products they're really pushing for the upcoming 6.0 version that all appeal to these same whales. 😞

The last contract I was able to land was working on one of these. Every rich ai bro that "has an idea for a game" is making this exact same thing. Same art style, same corridors, same gameplay. The problem is that these are some of the only people still paying for game projects in 2026 😭

Way back in gamedev school they taught us how to use NURBs. There were so many nurb specific tools and workflows. "this is the future" they said. Very useful class. All the kids are always talking about the non uniform rational b splines.

or a 3rd alternative would be to texture the underwear directly onto the body mesh. Cut that chunk of UVs and duplicate it off to the side and then swap out meshes at runtime (or shift UVs over) Hope that was helpful 😅 and good luck! Underwear deformations are always a pain to rig.

🤔 How close will the player get and how interactive do these need to be? If not close then yeah, just tweak and call it good enough. 😎 But if these are the basis for work in the future? I'd take the time and make clean geo that matches the underlying mesh exactly and save the future headache
