@greatdismal.bsky.social Have you heard Front 242s “Headhunter”? It always reminds me of New Rose Hotel. “..written in his cells he has got the marks og the genius I'm looking for this man to sell him to other men To sell him to other men at ten times the price at least”

Pathetic. I’m lost for words but I’m sure we all share similar sentiments.

I hate unnecessary embellishments, but I think minimalism has gone too far to the point of repressing the human spirit.

Eating a cinnamon bun with my coffee, and I can’t help thinking of the bakery in Squirrel Cove on Cortes island. Fresh cinamon buns and coffee every morning, life on pause and just watching nature as the boat swung on its anchor. youtu.be/JuVU_2rqbxs?...

…. on this episode of “This old house” I was NOT expecting to see vintage foam seat cushions being used to insulate the pipes running into the kitchen that overhangs the front deck. Explains why the pipes freeze in winter 🥶

Snowpatch Spire in Bugaboo Provincial Park. I was hoping for the Milky way but the clouds had other ideas. It took awhile to get a somewhat clear sky and enough moonlight to get a shot I was happy with. #photography #landscapephotography @bluesky.photography

I hate that I drive a gas vehicle - there is no good alternative with the distances I need to go & the abuse the vehicle needs to take. Modern cars are becoming problematic to repair and the amount of telemetry they record is ridiculous. Nothing is simple and good anymore.

My XTerra goes interesting place - a tough vehicle, but it requires maintenance for longevity. It's insane that several parts manufacturers were bought and bankrupted by one company - First Brands Group - making once common cheap parts near impossible to find. #enshitification

Moon setting behind Bugaboo Spire. I was almost packed up and ready for the hike out and 10 hour drive home, but I kept watch on the moon as it transited the sky. As it began to set I grabbed my camera and snapped one last shot. #landscapephotography #photography @bluesky.photography

It’s really weird not having to check the daily forecast for Vancouver. It used to be, there’d be a day or two of rain mixed in, maybe some cooler mornings. Now, it is consistently hot and smokey.

Wildfire smoke is getting to be a light fog in Vancouver. Measuring pm2.5 in my backyard. I picked this up several years ago when something shifted: wildfire smoke was becoming a common occurrence in the city, lock clockwork.

The wildfire smoke reached us last night, and I gazed up at an angry orange moon. This morning I looked directly at the neon pink-red sun and breathed in air that stung. And our prime minister works to push ever more pipelines through. "Build Canada Strong" as it burns to ash around us.
