Hey so callback to this, when I say Lake Bled is overtouristed in high season, I really mean it. This is the bus from Ljubljana, they're all like this this time of year. See it in the off-season or not at all.

A large crowd of people queue for a bus from Ljubljana to Lake Bled. There are too many people to fit on the bus and many will miss out. Such situations are unfortunately now typical for Slovenia during the summer due to overtourism.

Two preening pigeons have their intimate moment ruined by a loudmouth male. A situation nobody could ever once have experienced. Helsinki, Finland (In fairness to the lad, his plumage looked absolutely radiant in the evening light, it was worth a shot!)

An ode to a piece of crushed fruit covered in insects You were a peach or an apricot, I'm not quite sure. It's hot and dry, the landscape here is as parched as I've ever seen it, the insects are few. But here you are, like a feast laid at a table, lifeblood to a hungry people.

Fellow #birding and #bird enthusiasts, I'd like your help! In the fields north of Ljubljana, Slovenia today I spotted a migrating flock of striking white birds. Crow-sized but sleeker, brilliant white with highlights I didn't catch. Didn't fly like gulls, possibly whiter than terns. Any thoughts?

Deep cleaned the bathroom, job well done, put everything back in its place. Didn't notice the floor was still damp in the corner, and put the cardboard washing detergent box down on the wet floor. An hour later my partner comes in, sees the box is damp, tries to pick it up to move it. Ah well.

Hej poglej, it's Lake Bled. As always, it is as majestic as it looks on the postcards. With that said, if you're thinking of visiting Slovenia, I recommend you avoid Bled in high tourist season - it is beautiful but suffering badly from over-tourism. #photography #slovenia #landscapes
