After yesterday's Bluesky outage, this feed server got way behind and had a bug that kept it from catching up effectively. It should catch up within the next 30 minutes or so. There is a chance that the engagement counts powering the Highline feed sorting could be off for yesterday's posts

The Following ➖ and Following ⬇️ feeds should now show your own posts too, like the original Following feed does. In the former, you can mute yourself like you can any other account

Great question! In the OAuth flow, you're redirected to log in through bsky.social (your PDS), but the next step confirms what exactly you're authorizing. For my server the only permission I request is just to confirm your identity. You can see & revoke your authorizations here: bsky.social/account

New feed: it should work basically like Following, but if you use "show less" on a repost, you won't see reposts from that account. If you "show less" on a post, you will mute that account from the feed. There's a UI to add or remove mutes at feeds.mdruker.app. Feedback welcome!

Did you know you can tap “see more/less like this” and the Highline feeds will increment or decrement the number of posts from that account you’ll see per 24 hours?

It would increase storage costs quite a bit, not sure about compute. I’m planning to look soon at changes to how/where this server is deployed to optimize costs, will see then if extending the storage period could make sense, or if it’d only work as a premium tier or something

I switched which jetstream instance it listened to, and now the server seems to be consuming updates. It should hopefully catch up to real time over the next couple of hours.

Thank you! Glad to hear it’s useful. The repost percent isn’t of number of reposts in Following, it’s a target for what portion of the Highline feed is reposts. The server populates it from the top most reposted posts from your follows over the last day, showing the earliest repost for each.

It looks like a Bluesky app update caused reposts to stop appearing in the Highline feeds. I pushed an update and they should appear again, per your settings. By default, the Highline feeds include 10% reposts, but you can tweak how many your feed shows at feeds.mdruker.app

New feed: This one is a _forward_ chronological version of Following that saves your spot as you scroll from oldest to newest. It might be for you if you don't follow a lot of accounts. Let me know what you think, or if you find bugs!

The Catch Up feed is now known as Highline! Like the highlights of your timeline/skyline. And new users of the feed will be defaulted to seeing some recent posts at the top. Happy for feedback, of course.

The Recent Posts setting (accessible at feeds.mdruker.app) has now been updated to include reposts and replies as you would normally see in your Following timeline, before showing you a more filtered view of earlier posts

The Catch Up feed supports this now. Show more / show less will increase or decrease by 1 the number of posts the feed will show you from that account per 24 hours. You can always see and edit those values at feeds.mdruker.app as well.

Account-Specific Overrides. Set positive for more posts from this account, negative for less.
