The other thing I'm realizing is that since I sometimes speed scroll, the better ai images are hard to differentiate at speed from some of the real macro photos. Just flagged an account because it seemed like too many hummingbirds so I DID notice that one.

I’ll do a cleanup pass this weekend. I have thought about changing how it works but this is also not something I get paid to do & so far my quick / easy attempts have been worse quality.

It’s tricky because of how it’s set up currently. It’s not looking at images, it’s created with regex. I have to be able to see patterns in the posts to do removals that matter long term. Either phrases of off topic content (usually a new name) or specific accounts regularly off topic.

Should update in maybe 15 minutes or so. Moss as a part of a name is something that makes it through more often especially with sports and politics where it might just be a bunch of last names in a post.

Reminder that if you regularly post photos with no alt text I may put you on a list of accounts that won’t show up on the feeds I’ve built. I would love for you to be accessible too but that’s not the only reason for alt text. I want these feeds to stay on topic when I’m only filtering w/words.

Added some Regex that will hopefully catch all of the Modx mentions (and then removed mentions of Yamaha) so hopefully that will catch them in the CMS feed now. 😎

Right now using Skyfeed.app but will (maybe over this week) explore self hosting & others builder options just to get familiar with them. This one it helps if you understand Regex. There’s another some people have started using that is supposed to be simpler. I’m more likely to want more complex.

FWIW, you'll be seeing some adjustments in the unofficial Wordpress feed here because it's made it to a place where it's not as useful to me. I want this feed to be more conversational & less sales pitch. I can point anyone who wants something different to various Bluesky feed building resources.

It’s a bit tricky getting all the names and all the misspellings of the names sometimes. (There’s also one Moss celeb I still deliberately let through because everyone seems to find it funny and it hasn’t taken over the feed yet.)

Each feed is different. Moss is currently a “simpler” regex setup (though if people excessively spam the feed I have ways of blocking to keep it mostly on topic.) Some feeds use hashtags & others are actually trained algorithms. I’m looking at doing image training for moss but haven’t done it yet.

Just fyi, if you manage to notice feed spam before me, just let me know & I'll try to take care of it. With the influx of people + work I'm not always noticing things on all 10+ feeds. (I need an interface that's like some SMM apps where I can give different permission levels to more people.)

Happy 1 year 🎂 to the Moss feed! 🟢🎉 It was set up on a whim & it wasn't my first feed but it has been my most popular feed. And thank you to @redsolver.dev 's @skyfeed.app which made it possible for me to do it very early with just an understanding of regex.

Moss feed instructions: Using the word moss or mossy will likely get your post into the moss feed IF it has a photo. 🟢The goal is for the moss feed is to be nature oriented & green. 😎 There ARE words that do keep posts out. And most people named/nicknamed Moss I typically add to a removal list.

For the most part the words sunrise or sunset in the text or alt text will work. But I do have it also set to remove some things to try and keep it on topic. That feed definitely attempts to remain mostly scenic nature photos.

Should be as simple as including at least one photo & the word moss or mossy in the text or the alt text. No url links. However I have a number of key words removed (fursuit and disney are easy examples) in an effort to keep the feed nature focused.
