1. The Senate "permitting reform" bill will (likely) be released this week. 2. It is a data center & energy development bill, not a climate bill. 3. It will erode bedrock environmental safeguards—in particular the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act.

Recently, Rob Glicksman (GW Law) and I submitted a public comment in opposition to USDA's proposed recission of the Roadless Rule. This move by USDA/Forest Service is as unnecessary as it is shortsighted.

hey land management folks - I'm trying to find some studies that estimate the ecological impact of cattle vs. wild/feral horses and burros in the western US. I've come across some papers but I feel like there must be more out there. Any recommendation/sharing would be greatly appreciated!

This is a rigged process with a predetermined outcome: more O&G exploitation of the Greater Chaco landscape (which extends well beyond the boundaries of the NPS unit) that's already been subject to a century of injustice & exploitation. This outcome was explicitly identified in Project 2025.

I would be remiss if I did not also point out that Congressional permitting reform legislation would only fuel Project 2025's goal of ever more exploitation & extraction in the Greater Chaco landscape. i.e., Project 2025 and permitting reform go together like toxic peanut butter and jelly.

Controversial take perhaps, but I think you can install air-conditioning and shutdown data centers at the same time. maybe even steal all the air-conditioning units from the data centers and install them in public housing. Then run them off solar and battery while taxing the hyper rich to death

Keep in mind: the National Park Service has, for years, struggled with inadequate funding to maintain our national park system. The total cost of "deferred maintenance" = $24 billion. Trump's robbing us of our national parks heritage, treating taxpayer money as his personal checkbook.

The Biden administration passed major climate laws, including BIL CHIPS and IRA, using market incentives. DOE required Community Benefits Plans tying funding to labor equity and engagement, but many of these goals have since been rolled back under Trump. More: progressivereform.org/publications...
