Artemy's cold "no need" when Daniil tries to talk to him if he's declared guilty COULD be mad at Daniil if Daniil chose not to defend him, but if Karminsky overruled him, it becomes another way he's trying to cut off Daniil's emotional spectacle so Karminsky can't enjoy Daniil agonizing over it

The way the Inspector in Miracle Seeker tries to be so backhanded about Artemy making the cure and yet at the end of it all, Daniil doesn't rise to it at all and just responds with total respect... Especially crunchy if the Inspector is Daniil's worst, most critical thoughts personified too

So. I'm having a thought: P3 Aglaya as the one who was originally Simon's preferred "heir." But after she rejected him, he found Daniil instead. And Aglaya, recognizing "Simon's type," tried to save him from that fate only to have him reject her help because he was too paranoid to believe her. 😩
