I don’t intend on taking part, but it’s really cool to see its still going after all these years

www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsAc... Also, Loathe. Their newest album is... jazzier(?) than their last one, and has a great mix of beautiful and brutal moments in it. Also really recommend 'I let it in and it took everything' as well if that's your sound.

something important I learned from him was that it's a thing of beauty to be as passionate about anything as he is about music

this 100%. Have always admired ocarina (and majoras mask) for its use of silence and when it choses not to have music

i’m sorry if it hits your reach and thus your livelihood to drop a platform but if you were a merchant and the biggest place to sell your wares was Wacky Mike’s Child Porn (and other stuff) Emporium I bet you would just take the hit. It’s not any different just because we’re on computer

their rise has been insane. They did a few shows near me earlier this year, and I couldn't go to any of them because they either sold out in minutes, or too many people showed up.

yeah, the only other thing I've seen thrown about is that 'fuzzy pickles' might have been a phrase that someone from the localisation team heard and thought was funny. Even then, I'd assume it's an American thing. Robbie Williams is British. And Earthbound didn't get a UK release until... 2013 lol

020

Steve H-Johnsto @fearofdark.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Is Fuzzy Pickles like.. a common phrase when taking photos? I've only ever seen it in and referenced in Earthbound. I feel like I am the only person alive who noticed this, and is bothered by it. I have googled 'Better man earthbound fuzzy pickles reference' to no avail.

Steve H-Johnsto @fearofdark.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Every now and then I think of the 'say "Fuzzy Pickles"' reference in Better Man and like, I need to know how and why there is an Earthbound reference in the goddamn Robbie Williams chimpanzee film

this chorale is absolutely gut wrenchingly beautiful. I had to learn more and I found that the composer tragically died at 29 protecting France during WWII and this recording is, in fact, a performance by his sister who survived him. wow.
