A 1993 Kellogg's Apple Jacks promotion for Super Mario Land 2 contained a score sheet for the game, to "keep track of points". Somehow they missed the fact that the game does not have a score system, rendering the sheet profoundly absurd and, fittingly, completely pointless.

This is a 1993 official Kellogg's Apple Jacks/Super Mario Land 2 promotion.
It contains a score sheet for the game. "Keep track of the points you earn", it says.
"SUPER MARIO LAND 20: 6 GOLDEN COINS
While you're helping Mario track down the six golden coins, keep track of the points you earn in each zone of Mario Land."
Super Mario Land 2 does not have a score system.
Like Super Mario Bros. 2 before it, or Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario Bros. Wonder after it, it simply does not have "points".
If the writer somehow meant something else the game does track, like coins or enemies defeated, this is a failure of communication as the game or its manual do not call them "points", nor do they function as a score in the way points do in other Mario games.
It is much more likely that the writer simply assumed that all Mario games have points, and did not check the specific game in question.

A magazine ad showing the Hyper7. It's a dedicated word processor all-in-one, with a PS/2 keyboard, a monochrome backlit LCD monitor device left, twin vertically mounted 3.5" floppies device right, and a thermal printer device rear. The screen on the device shows a multi-application operating system, including word processor, spreadsheet, rolodex, drawing program, graphing program, disk utility, telecommunications terminal, and tutorial. The only thing it's lacking is a way to program on the thing.

In 2023, concept art was revealed by Super Mario RPG artist Jiro Mifune where the party was inspired by The Three Musketeers, and included Wario. The posts were soon deleted, but I have restored the images to the best of my ability.

In November 2023, Super Mario RPG artist Jiro Mifune shared early concepts where the party was themed after The Three Musketeers. The posts were soon deleted, but were preserved by Super Mario RPG expert pidgezero_one. The photos are taken at oblique angles and have very low contrast. Lakitu's Japanese name, Jugemu, is taken from a folk tale about a boy with an extremely long name. However, the name is so absurdly long that several other Lakitu-related names were also taken from different parts of it, and it still has space for more references in the future.

"Jugemu" is a Japanese folk story about a boy with an extremely long name. After giving Lakitu a name in Japanese that referenced it, this became a running gag in Mario games, resulting in various spiky or Lakitu-adjacent entities taking names from it.
Here is how the story goes:
A father goes to the local temple to ask the priest for a good name for his newborn son. The priest suggests many different names that are supposed to bring good fortune. Unable to decide, the father simply named his son every single suggestion all at once.

A 2004 internal Nintendo document featured a bizarre model that looks like a fusion of Super Mario 64 and Paper Mario. This is actually a model from the famous Super Mario 128 tech demo, and is the only known place where it was ever used again after that.

The 2004 internal Nintendo programming manual for Nintendo DS graphics contains two sample images featuring this bizarre dot-eyed Super Mario 64 Mario.
Could it be a fusion of Super Mario 64 and Paper Mario?
Or Super Mario 64 and Super Mario World?
It is neither!
In the famous Super Mario 128 tech demo at SpaceWorld 2000, one of the graphical effects that the demo cycled through was cel shading, during which the Marios assumed this model!
Not only is this manual the only place this model was ever used outside of Super Mario 128, it is also the only place it can be seen without cel shading!

In Paper Mario, Parakarry is a clumsy postman who joins Mario to find letters he lost. However, at the end of the game, Parakarry leaves, while the letters never actually get removed from Mario's inventory. This creates the humorous effect of Parakarry forgetting them once again.
