You can do the same thing with a 2 quid (not disposable) glass file, or any fine grit sandpaper. Used carefully it'll buff away dead cuticle skin, but not harm the living tissue. Then you just apply some cuticle oil/hand cream and hey beautiful, look at your lovely hands!

I get annoyed by pink tax, but especially when it's taking advantage of a demographic of women who perhaps don't have great knowledge of DIY stuff. In this case, sandpaper. 50 quid for a set of three, one-use disposable "cuticle files" is taking the mickey.
