The new Motion Controls Beta release program is now up for #VRMoveTime! The initial versions focus PlayStation gyro and enables the touchpads to control the mouse cursor too! Join the Big Seal Discord here and send a message in chat to get access and report any bugs: discord.gg/uHpae55WFt

Been playing through Tears of the Kingdom (A++ 11/10 would play again), and keep being amazed at some of the dumb things they let you attach to weapons: My favourites were rocket sword and skateboard shield, though 😸

Link in Tears of the Kingdom holding a sword with a hot air balloon basket attached to it.

Description reads "Basket Club, Soldier's Broadsword + Basket - A light, thin metal sword used by the guards at Hyrule Castle. It's light weight makes it easy to handle and enables quicker charged attacks."

Lightweight indeed.

Link, as he appears in Tears of the Kingdom, wielding a sword equipped with a rocket and a shield equipped with a skateboard.

#Blender is really good at making textures! All you gotta do is make a detailed semi-2D object with a little bit of depth, set the lighting, and take a picture of it! This one is the pattern for a magic cloak for twitch.tv/thecolorfulvegetarian 's new 3D #VTuber model. 😺

I've been working hard on 3D model commissions lately, but I did manage to get virtual controller gyro movement working in VRMT! Now all that's left to do is to apply some smoothing and rotation limits 😅 I'll publish my Unity gyro controller plugins once I have everything fully working too.

I'm very excited in a nerdy kind of way cause I was just able to optimize the app I've been working on to use around 3-4% CPU and 5% GPU with the included model! 🙀🙀 Some may be under the assumption that 3D VTuber apps take up more resources than 2D, but apps like VRMT and VSeeFace prove otherwise!

Screenshot showing VRMoveTime running and using about 3-4% CPU and about 5% GPU in the Windows Task Manager.

Today I implemented texture desaturation/grayscale as a part of the upcoming customization feature for VRMT, which lets you customize avatar colors even with very dark textures! Changing texture data is incredibly slow when running on a CPU, but quick on the GPU via compute shaders! #vtuber #vsky

TIL the trippy dream scenes in Whisper of the Heart come from a whole fantasy world called Iblard. Naohisa Inoue created the paintings and even helped make this 1997 PlayStation oddity where you just walk through his art in 3D. Neat.
