What's funny is this never was meant to be cold turkey. I meant to taper off until the migraines hit and then have a couple, and just lower the intake, try for moderation.. and then I never got the headaches. I don't get freebies often with my health, and I took it and ran.

Some people don't consider caffeine sobriety to be on the same level as alcohol or drugs, but by the heavens this has been the hardest thing I've ever given up. Here's to next year, give me strength.

I will state this, my doctor does want me drinking some coffee for my gi issues, and so now and then I will have a big cup of decaf, which I know has trace amounts of caffeine, so does chocolate, which I will have now and then, but this isn't like downing 5 cans of Cherry Coke Zero a night.

My biggest problem is, my remaining vice is food, something I can't just give up and I do need to get my eating and weight under control. That's my next hurdle and I hope I can handle it when I think I'm strong enough to. Just, I could use some encouragement and recognition for one year.

I have not wanted a smoke SO BADLY since I gave it up, I've not wanted a tumbler of whiskey or rum so desperately since I gave up caffeine. To go to the dispensary and just down some gummies and brain melt on my days off. It's been hellish, to say the least. But I made it a year.

Caffeine has been another thing. Not only because it's SO PREVALENT, staring me in the face, being in the gaming community it's EVERYWHERE, it's expected. The loss of that vice has SPIKED my desires for my other vices.

I gave up a lot of my vices BEFORE I became addicted to them. Tobacco about 10 years ago, booze a few years later, weed a couple after that. I've never been an alcoholic, smoker (even if I enjoyed a cigar or pipe now and then) and I only used weed for medical purposes. Sobriety for those was easy.

This is very serious for me, and I could really use serious replies to this because this hasn't been easy for me. I'm not sure what day I started this last year, but October this year marks 1 YEAR of being sober from caffeine. I'm a soda junkie, a coffee junkie. This has been my hardest struggle.
