Yknow GTA was never my thing, but I did enjoy RDR2, and I thought the whole appeal of these games was just supposed to be dumb silly fun and maybe some solid character writing here and there. Video game ass video games, right? But this new one seems to be… missing that point?

Idk if I love the towns THAT much in Cave Story, they’re cute n all but really it’s just that I love that when you play Cave Story, it feels like half the game is just a town. Because even when you’re knee deep in some action section or w/e, you can always just stumble upon Some Guy’s House

“Lil spirit guys in the forest” is kinda baked into Japanese folklore, so that was always something they could’ve drawn from, but you’re probably right in that popular media at the time is a very relevant factor. Prolly also why the remake looks like every Hire This Man demo ever lol

Ask them to repeat themselves. This works especially well if everyone definitely heard it. If they try to skate around it, just repeat it yourself, like a question. Sometimes it’s best to let fools make fools of themselves. If it’s someone genuinely capable of change, they’ll reflect on it.

Yeah some of those adventure mode maps can get pretty brutal, especially some of the character locked ones if you haven’t leveled that particular character up/aren’t that good with their playstyle

I think in general, people on here (the internet) can’t separate their own preferences from the way they evaluate games. Like it’s ok to not like timers or high difficulty or whatever, but as it turns out, many people feel differently, and there are “less abrasive” games out there for you
