Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Woo hoo! Saturday night! Oh, wait. I’m a priest. Goodnight! 1162
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 20/09/2026For the record, I will not be retrofitting the church bell tower to allow for snipers and drones. 0121
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 11/09/2026There was a time when, out of respect for the dead, the grieving, and the traumatized, nobody shared images or videos of the towers actually being hit on 9/11. This seems to have changed this year, and it feels like something sacred has been violated. 061
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Going out for Greek food tonight. The online menu didn’t specify whether it was Koine Greek food. So I don’t know whether or not there will be Biblical (pro)portions. 1110
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 21/08/2026The only time I’m ever interested in hearing something about Harry and Meghan is if Bishop Michael Curry is involved. 0122
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Love it when one of our stained glass windows pairs perfectly with the gospel reading. 0192
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Java loves it when I vote by mail and then wear the sticker around the house. 1121
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Everyone can’t stop talking about The Odyssey and I don’t understand what’s so compelling about a movie based on my old minivan. 080
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Okay, back to actual football. See you in four years, other football! 030
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Rats. I should have referred to sharing the communion wine this morning as a “hydration break.” Missed opportunity. 0120
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/07/2026The best part of my day happened in the handshake line after church when a blind parishioner asked me to bless his new service dog Seymour. And, for the record, “Seymour” is the greatest name for a seeing eye dog EVER! 3645
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I can’t believe England missed that extra point. But wow. 6-4. #worldcup 252
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I do wonder how much my teleprompter guy has earned off the prediction market by placing bets on my sermons. 3100
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 12/07/2026We baptized a young adult this morning who first started coming to church after discovering my TikTok account. Which isn’t to say that TikTok leads to salvation - or that I’m a “baptism influencer.” But it’s a reminder that the Holy Spirit can and does work in amazing and surprising ways. TBTG! 3331
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Met a toddler named Malachi at Trader Joe’s today. Yowza! That name is pure fire! 0101
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 08/07/2026If your wedding inquiry includes the word “venue,” we are not likely a good fit… 0131
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Had dinner tonight with a LEGIT war hero. Ever grateful. 031
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 04/07/2026You know, if you’re planning to do a “period liturgy” tomorrow, I do hope you intend to preach for an hour. 1111
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Rite I: “All men are created equal” Rite II: “All are created equal” 2112
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 03/07/2026American Preachers looking at 4th of July weekend. 170
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I admit I sometimes wonder how much the church spends annually for bishops to fly to other bishops’ consecrations. 3130
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Shoutout to those of us with dead dads who miss their dead dads! 080
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/06/2026None of this would have happened if they’d painted the Reflecting Pool Sarum Blue. 191
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Want to come work with me in Palm Beach? It’s never dull around here! episcopalnewsservice.org/jobs/associa... 171
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Went to a new barber today. When he learned I was an Episcopal priest, he asked me what I thought about “gay Christians.” When I told him they were beloved children of God, he started lecturing me about the nature of sin. I am currently looking for a new barber. 2200
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 31/05/2026All seven verses of St. Patrick’s Breastplate today. Obviously. 8181
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Oh God, I just realized I’m going to CREDO on Tuesday and haven’t done a lick of the pre-conference materials. In other news, I need to hire another full-time priest at Bethesda-by-the-Sea. Anyone want to move to Palm Beach?! We’re doing some great things, having fun, making disciples, growing, etc. 080
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 25/05/2026The pope writes 42,000 words (presumably without the help of AI) and I can barely pull together 1,200 every week! (also, presumably without AI). 2102
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/05/2026“I know it's your day off and I'm very sorry to bother you but…” I’m totally putting this on my tombstone. 1140
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 18/05/2026Had something happen yesterday I’ve never seen before in 25 years of ordained ministry. A bishop, during a visitation for confirmations, put an offering in the collection plate when it came up to the altar. Not in a showy way - he just called the acolyte over and put in a check. Grateful for that! 1191
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Sorry mom, but Sixth Sunday of Easter > Mother’s Day 1180
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 21/04/2026In the end, I decided NOT to have a conversation with the person sitting at the table next to me in the coffee shop today. 060
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 19/04/2026Did a rare Rite I funeral today. Which reminds me that Rite I funerals are the best funerals. 3240
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 13/04/2026A doctor? Well, in that case…“Physician, heal thyself!” 021
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 13/04/2026I’m so glad that we have an Archbishop of Canterbury who is also “weak on crime.” 0130
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 13/04/2026In a world of Pharaohs and Herods, the Prince of Peace reigns supreme. 090
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 04/04/2026One of my favorite services of the year is also the one that’s most overlooked: The liturgy for Holy Saturday. Pause amid the preparation, experience the void, sit in the stillness, seek the holiness of almost but not yet. 6332
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Why is it no one ever mentions the FIRST seven words of Christ?! 160

Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Seriously though, the Oil of the Catechumens is the chrism mass version of the poor stepchild. 170
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 30/03/2026On Palm Sunday, I can never decide whether or not I have live donkey envy. 2101
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Friendly reminder that if you’re singing the Exsultet for the first time at this year’s Easter Vigil, you should start practicing…three months ago. 2131
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Speaking of which, in my Maundy Thursday sermon, should I use the line, “something’s afoot??” 130
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Nothing like a joyful dose of God-inspired goodness reverberating throughout the Anglican Communion to bring out the online hate and misogyny. Holy buckets! 182
Tim Schenck @fathertim.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Here’s something Jesus didn’t say: “Lazarus just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead.” 0287
