i'm aware of an elder woman who has spent the last 50+ years steeped in negative discourse, effectively bringing everyone in the room down. regular days, holidays, birthdays, to the point that nobody wants to be around her any longer. people walk away and don't come back. including their offspring.

a pattern as old as social media itself, a music creator who claims to cater to one specific niche audience, meanwhile the revenue is derived from the opposite group, and they proceed to alienate that opposite group, thereby drying up their revenue stream. i've seen bands evaporate from this.
