Got out of the meeting to news that someone on my caseload passed away this morning. Someone I spent a lot of time with and got to know them and their family really well. This is the tough part of this job. So… basically I’m going to burn all of my PTO pretty soon. I’m… spent.

I work in the field I work in because I truly care about the people I support. I want them to get the proper care they need and to be treated like human beings in the process. It’s the paperwork and inner office side of things that I hate and that’s the part that usually causes me stress.

This “prologue” and “epilogue” discourse is the stupidest fucking thing. How can these idiots not comprehend that these are essential to the story? Think of it as a movie or TV show — the prologue is the cold open. In Law and Order, that cold open sets up everything you are about to read.

Because I recently finished the book, I decided to finally watch The Leftovers on HBOMax. While I definitely find myself a little irritated with the changes from the book and the 100% increase in dog schmurdering, it’s still a good show. But man… they sure are schmurdering a lot of dogs.
