I was intrigued by some of fragrances offered by Zara and ordered a couple but man, I'm really disappointed by how misleading the fragrance notes are.

I find I tend towards darker fragrances but it's hard to find a nice balance. Dark fragrances seem to be either "kinda sorta just a little dark" or "light has forsaken this place".

Serge Lutens Ecrin Fumee perfume is baffling. One of the few fragrances where the difference between smelling close to the skin and smelling from a distance changes the perceived notes dramatically. And on a piece of paper (to test) it just smelled like powdered chocolate. Baffling.

Some perfumes come with really gaudy bottles, but as long as the fragrance isn't that expensive, I actually think it's kind of fun. It doesn't look good, but the overly ostentatious presentation is amusing. (Example attached) What do you think?

I pulled the trigger on trying Lost In Time by Clandestine Laboratories. After having sampled 15 of Mark's fragrances I'm confident that I'll find something to like. The scent is experimental, and is supposed to smell like a tobacco curing shed in various stages of curing. Color me intrigued

I started watching "Chernobyl" recently and it's just as good as I expected, which is, ironically, unexpected. Nuclear disasters hold a special kind of terror, one that seeps into my bones. I find them both fascinating and deeply unnerving.

I tried Yatagan by Caron today, and it is way better than I expected for the price. Is Caron a big name? It's supposedly a masculine scent but I'd call it unisex for anyone who likes wood-heavy fragrances

Completely forgot to list the name: Kenzo Homme EDP Approaching 8 hrs of wear and it's still easily detectable.

My experience is still limited, but this is one of the more interesting fragrances I've tried from a popular brand. Very dark, dense, and aquatic, as the bottle might suggest, but much more "artists interpretation" of dark ocean rather than realistic. Good staying power on skin so far

Hendley Perfumes is probably my favorite indie perfumer right now, but they were also one of the first that I tried. It wasn't until I tried some more mainstream fragrances that I realized just how amazing their blends are.
