I love Ranma 1/2 because they can telegraph their jokes from a mile away and yet they destroy me every time

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

It’s still good, it’s just that the old one had this bit of building tension that played over the final scene that just made everything more dramatic. This one is more upbeat and positive, which doesn’t work the same way. Maybe it’s a hint towards where the season is going though

This is about Ramparts of Ice, a very good show that only I watch

Heartbreaking: an anime you love is back and even though the new ending is perfectly fine it just doesn't have the juice of the old one

Thanks for the Oxenfree reminder… just redownloaded it and I’m excited to get into it. But of course great list!

With NYT doing a tv ranking, here’s mine. Besides Lost at #1, there’s no particular order

Either Netflix is doing a bit or the algorithm gave me my new favorite image

10. Peak After many failed attempts alongside @dragonofmagnolias.bsky.social, I finally reached the summit and rolled credits! Incredibly satisfying, incredibly fun, can’t wait to keep going and reach more summits

my last game at Citi this season, with my daughter (her fifth!). the Mets have been, as satirical as this sounds, very vital to my mental health and happiness these last few years. can’t wait to see them again soon

My OTHER favorite performance of the year! After watching all of Better Call Saul recently I am so glad she finally has one.

Raise your Sunset Cocktails for my favorite performance of the year!

I've been watching through the series because my little brother loves it and I've mostly found it perfectly fine but man did this part do absolutely nothing for me, what a miserable experience

Finished Golden Wind and all I can say is Trish innocent

Apothecary Diaries has now become my most anticipated game

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Haha you’re good, I appreciate the other angle. I don’t hate it, it’s just never clicked with me, and it makes me feel a bit dumb for not “getting it”. So maybe it’s worth accepting that I don’t and thats okay

I think I am literally the only person on planet earth equipped to write that haha

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

That's a good point! A movie I love that really has been lost to time, Source Code, is a big inspo for Nenji's plot (stuck in a time loop on a train) so it's definitely possible. But it would only further show that I have just always been into this specific thing haha.

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Very fun explaining one of my favorite childhood shows to @violet1vy.bsky.social ( the American remake of Life on Mars) only for her to interrupt and go "Wait is this just 13 Sentinels?" Always nice to have confirmation that I've just always been like this

I have Breath of the Wild in my Switch right now but I’m only playing Silksong because I like to think that eventually Silksong will frustrate me enough that I’ll finally start BotW for the third time and maybe finally like it. I mean it hasn’t happened yet, but like, it might

Finally saw Akira now that it’s back in theaters. The best part is that my understanding of the plot is no longer filtered through the Kanye West “Stronger” video

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Honestly kinda thought The Force Awakens' record for domestic gross would stand a lot longer, seemed untouchable after Endgame fell short. Wild that the eleventh Spider-Man movie might be the one to do it

9. Your Future Self Rediscovered my big backlog of indies and thought I'd try to work through some of them. Unsurprisingly, the somewhat meta timeloop text adventure was very me. All about trying to talk your future self out of committing genocide, it's weird and haunting, with a banging soundtrack

120

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

8. Hollow Knight After a lost save file and plenty of encouragement from a wonderful friend, I was really glad to finally go back in and see it through to the end. Gosh nothing more satisfying than darting around and getting good. Ghost is my friend.

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Yeah… obviously that’s the true ideal, but same showrunners doing a different true crime parody… about as good as we’re gonna get. Still very hype

010

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Funding an unofficial third season of American Vandal is maybe my favorite thing James Gunn has ever done, which is saying something

110

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Because of course there’s no way to know what NYC would look like otherwise

060

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

That’ll be four years after season 1, why is anime doing American live action seasons now

030

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

You are absolutely Amy March yes, I love that

100

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

I love whenever they get into the mundane-ness of it all. Like the Spider-Man & The X-Men comic is so fun specifically because the idea of Wolverine needing to find a sub had never occurred to me and I loved it

020

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

7. Hades II I had actually played up until the final run months ago, but law school took up my brain space. With the Odyssey and Hadestown I got in the mood to finish it. I mean, it’s exactly what you’d hope, punching up every aspect of an already perfect game. Loved all the new wrinkles it added

Only been reading House of Leaves for about 10 minutes before I started coughing uncontrollably, which stopped the instant I got up to get water. So I’m already getting the 4D experience even just in the introduction

250

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

Oh gosh I wasn’t even thinking about that! Yeah I’m with you, it’s way less fun. Very possible I just have never stopped calling them Devil Rays haha. They need to embrace the pure 90s-ness from where their name came

The Washington Nationals just doesn’t have the whimsy that Montreal Expos exudes (unless this is about the Florida to Miami Marlins and I miss that too)

Just because you watch every show wondering how it’s just One Piece doesn’t mean you don’t have other ones too!

110

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

One Piece is a great pull too!

My fondest memories of Lost are of the hours of conversation I had with my family (and on the Entertainment Weekly boards) more than the show. I remember my sister calling me during the S1 finale of The Good Place and just freaking out for a full commercial break. Shared experience is the magic

In a classic me fashion this is one of my all time favorite Ghibli films (because it’s about people being sad and having a look back on how high school shaped them) so I’m genuinely so excited about this
