iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

With NYT doing a tv ranking, here’s mine. Besides Lost at #1, there’s no particular order

Either Netflix is doing a bit or the algorithm gave me my new favorite image

10. Peak After many failed attempts alongside @dragonofmagnolias.bsky.social, I finally reached the summit and rolled credits! Incredibly satisfying, incredibly fun, can’t wait to keep going and reach more summits

9. Your Future Self Rediscovered my big backlog of indies and thought I'd try to work through some of them. Unsurprisingly, the somewhat meta timeloop text adventure was very me. All about trying to talk your future self out of committing genocide, it's weird and haunting, with a banging soundtrack

8. Hollow Knight After a lost save file and plenty of encouragement from a wonderful friend, I was really glad to finally go back in and see it through to the end. Gosh nothing more satisfying than darting around and getting good. Ghost is my friend.

7. Hades II I had actually played up until the final run months ago, but law school took up my brain space. With the Odyssey and Hadestown I got in the mood to finish it. I mean, it’s exactly what you’d hope, punching up every aspect of an already perfect game. Loved all the new wrinkles it added

I didn’t know horror novels could have jump scares in them

Look I’ve had a crush on Ema since I played Ace Attorney 1 when it was released but easiest way to re-establish my crush is to have her talk about forensics by quoting Lauren Bacall in her very first scene

030

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

Maybe it’s a bit too long of a scene to be a cameo but Marty in Killers of the Flower Moon is my all time favorite use of the director in their own movie

030

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

Being a SasuNaru shipper would be so easy I could just caption this “oh I’m sure”

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

You know, playing the Ace Attorney games after a year of law school… I didn’t think I’d feel so seen

As a former uncredited employee of Stranger Things for two seasons, I felt like it was my duty to see how it was being represented on Broadway

I’ve spent about three days on Long Island and I’m already at my personal heaven. How can you not be romantic about baseball?

6. Dispatch Years ago I played Telltale Walking Dead, and it never really clicked with me. So glad I gave Dispatch a shot. As a comics nerd, I’m sure that helped (Malevola is very indebted to my beloved Magik, for instance) but I loved Robbie and I would honestly play the dispatching as a game

5. Crow Country Huge shocker that the PS1 Resident Evil-like horror game set in an Atlanta theme park was basically engineered for me. Haunting, weird, gross, I really dug it. Really adored the protagonist Mara: short tempered, mean, violent, secretive, but always charming.

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 20/04/2026

4. Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo Such a blast! Scratched the Uchikoshi itch for me. Really fun twists and at least one jump scare that REALLY got me. Meta and weird like I like my VNs

Happy birthday to a friend not on Bluesky! Tried to make a mixture of two of her favorite things, Apothecary Diaries and ice skating, and I hope I did that well. Also big thank you to the lovely and amazing @violet1vy.bsky.social for being my ice skating expert 🔗 archiveofourown.org/works/82455631

3. Resident Evil Requiem What can I say, it’s a Resident Evil game, and I love it every time! I thought having Grace build up tension and then Leon release it as an action hero was such a fun choice

Since I just post about movies on a rare occasion here, I finally watched all 10 Best Picture noms so thought I’d rank them too. Genuinely did like all 10! Biggest surprise was Train Dreams, which reduced me to a puddle in its final scene. F1 is probably higher up because of my bias but whatever

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 09/03/2026

My friend that’s a bigger film nerd than I am always challenges me to make a Top 15 list. After crossing off the Best Picture nominees this weekend, figured I’d post my list

Seeing as my favorite podcast covered the Coens this year, Joel was inevitable. Not quite sure why Tom Hanks but not complaining

2. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Allow me to join the chorus of people heaping praise onto this. I think it holds onto its cards for a bit too long, but the reveal is worth it, with plotlines that are aimed at me. Learning the patterns scratches the same itch as Hollow Knight. Really enjoyed it

Games I beat in 2026 1. Piglet’s Big Game As a kid I NEVER beat the final boss of this, while home for Christmas, I found it and had to give a try. So is this a bit disingenuous to post this? Sure. But this is too big of a deal for me to not post about it. 23 years in the making!

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 17/12/2025

12. Hades (12/06) I cleared all 10 runs! I appreciate my friend for teasing me until I actually bothered to beat it because it absolutely paid off. Felt like I truly mastered the game as it went. Beat it with every weapon too. Loved the ending, just so rewarding

030

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 17/12/2025

11. Slay the Princess - The Pristine Cut (10/24) Really really loved this one. As you get deeper it gets more and more in line with my tastes. Really love the specific ending I got, to the point I’m nervous to return to it. But a lovely, sad, weird tale of how hard it is to trust another person

RIP to Wild Strawberry, the manga that excited me most these last couple of years. I wish it had gotten the chance to spread its wings more, but I really enjoyed every step of the way. And still to this day, I’ve written the only fic on AO3 for it. Please read this manga if you get the chance

10. American Arcadia A lovely birthday gift from @sugarcomatosed.bsky.social that I finally finished, it’s an EXTREMELY me game. What if the Truman Show was about a 70s paranoia thriller? Love the conclusion it reached, interesting sticky answer to its questions. Absolutely loved it

9. Overcooked 2 Went through the entire game with @celeast.bsky.social and had an absolute blast. I never thought I’d actually beat Overcooked and I’m so happy I did! Felt great to do it with a friend and defeat the Unbread! Such a silly, fun game

nw (first time) My best friend in the world is a horror obsessed scaredy cat, and she wants to watch the other two with me, having seen the first one, but is too scared to rewatch this one. So here I am, watching it in the middle of the day in August

8. Super Mario Odyssey Surprisingly a first time play for me! I cried during the New Donk City festival, obviously the highlight of the game for me. Loved how it rewarded every single time you asked “I wonder if there’s something over there”. Incredibly fun game

130

Farva @farva.bsky.social · 22/07/2025

7. Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake) What a game! Sometimes I forget what a punch SNES games can have, but man was I moved throughout. I can see how this influences all the FFs to come, but also, why they would want it to. It feels like such a precious object, bold and weird in all the ways I love
