Cyn is a short form of Cynthia. There are probably more fulfilling things you could be doing with your time than trying to extrapolate blame from mundane reading comprehension mismatches.

That's the excuse they fly. If it were really so small to them though they might not put so much effort into asserting it. Imo more likely they specifically hate the possibility if rape being punished because they are rapists or want to rape.

It's not, bc the govt decided that the category for what is supposed to be the worst crimes should revolve around money. Keep thinking we should riot for that to change. Rape and murder should be felonies without needing a simultaneous money crime. Enough with the coddling of money, it isn't alive.

If people don't want rape victims coming forward The stupidly obvious solution is to NOT RAPE ANYONE.

don't cops have things like portable speed-bumps that pop the tires of anything that tries to drive over them? why don't folks in areas expecting some roads to be civilian-heavy get some of those of their own, along with those neon sand/water-filled construction blockades, to enforce the peace?

remember that cartoon trope, passing up an easy end in favor of a special one is self-thwarting? the cautionary isn't alignment-locked. if the clot wins first, maybe disappointing, but he'd still be done. maybe better, too; his dramatic trial could let his enablers be forgotten before their arrests.

What If raping is some sort of shared characteristic of people who enjoy harming others, and those with no record weee just never reported? What if without rapists, capitalism would collapse, the barriers to medical progress, food and housing access, climate control?

Ever wonder how many problems would disappear, or atleast be nearly flattened, by just getting rid of rapists? People who find literal pleasure in harming others and hate accepting no - wouldn't be shocked if a lot of murderers, genocidal maniacs, and all sorts of other criminals have also raped.

Twits like to complain, but it's expensive! Preventative care is way cheaper than emergency/corrective care + the resulting spikes of welfare, homelessness, and desperation-based portion of crime. It's more expensive to Not take care of people, by a Lot. Empathy is the cheaper+more efficient option.

Eggs are not hard to get. In fact, the better the chicken's life - and they are Not hard to please - the more eggs, of higher quality. Those F'd up corpo megafarms are just sunk cost fallacy, refusing to acknowledge simple realities. They don't need all that structural crap or that many chickens.

Past landlord at a horse ranch i used to work only had 6, but was trying to get each of 3 renters to take 2 cartons home whenever he stopped by. Free. With a request to bring the empties back because *they ran out more often than the eggs*. The chickens weren't even for farming. They were just pets.

Perhaps treat yourself to a vacation, if you can. In a lovely countryside, maybe some actual, non-corporate farmers have an airBnB. Spend like a month watching them foist a fuckton of eggs from only a dozen chickens on everyone who'll take them, then maybe think again if avg. $7/carton is "low".

Also it's kind of a FU to anyone with allergies or semsitivities. So your crotch is perpetually burning from lavender-tainted laundry because you have to scrounge and possibly pay extra to not be smothered in a harsh chemical. Gee, I wonder how needless perpetual rashes effect cervical cancer risk?

Never had flu vaccine symptoms either and all covid shots do is feel like a punch in the arm and give me chills that can't decide if they're cold or horny. Folks should at the very least find out how they react to vaccines before running from a brief life-saving inconvenience over over-hyped rumors.

Because it kind of shows that you don't actually care to think about what, exactly, alt text is supposed to accomplish - it comes off as just belittling it down to some sort of generic social rule instead of an accessibility tool.

The reason alt text helps people with impaired vision is because it describes what one is looking at. The text in this picture is larger than alt text. Signed, someone with mildly impaired vision who is tired of seeing "shame no alt text!" on posts that are *easier to read than alt text*.

One of the 1%'s favorite lies seems to be that their economy and the economy of the 99% are one and the same. They are not. They do not contribute to nor engage with our economy. We're pawns to theirs rather than participants. We need to stop taking the 1%'s word on what the economy needs.

Rapists are a walking example of the trolley car problem. A version of it that should be extremely easy, considering the one tying people to the tracks also laid down on them expecting priority. But far too many people couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.

If you don't consider the bulk of the country's population in cities Americans, the pool for 'normal' gets much smaller, more selective, and much easier to confuse. Which is just how the divisionists pushing for increasing xenophobia and every -ism under the sun like it.

Always thought that was a bit masochistic of them too tbh, considering the incredible workload of trying to cram dozens of patients each under just a few GP. Just... hire more doctors per building. It would be better for everyone.

fartyfey.bsky.social @fartyfey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
See also: we don't want to hire enough staff to run clinics on weekends, and are okay with in exchange never having an accurate BP measure on anyone with a standard schedule who then has to wake up hours earlier than natural for their routine to go in before work if they want to see a doctor at all.

Sales tax is one of those things that makes perfect sense on paper but falls apart in real world application. If it worked like it sounds like it should, megacorporations would hate it here. Instead, they make it their primary residence.
000
fartyfey.bsky.social @fartyfey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Maybe look at how sales tax only is "working" for New Hampshire's infrastructure... then look at how Seattle's can have high sales tax + high wages but still increasingly exorbitant cost of living when combined with uncapped rent and how it's still not reigning in Amazon's HQ here.

...the rich fly around out of country (so out of sales tax jurisdiction) for shits and giggles and trade assets worth wealth instead of literal wealth when they want to get around rules. Sales tax only works on people who play by the rules, which are mostly the lower classes who can't afford it.

seems like lotta men go around choosing to live half-lives, crying about how they have it sooooo much harder than women... because of social rules. you know, the social rules that exist specifically to keep men and women socially and legally segregated so some incels can feel macho? *those rules*?
000
fartyfey.bsky.social @fartyfey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
cuz misogyny is where that crap comes from. all that extra bullshit men "have" to insert into their lives, those rules are made and enforced by those who benefit from misogyny, dragging everyone else into it. yes, EVERYONE. no matter how few shits you give about women, it's YOUR problem too.

thanks for the tip! i've been wanting to switch jobs soon but have been worried about the possibility of a new employer turning out to be insufferable after hiring on. seems easy enough to just start picking up some coffee before interviews and let the weirdly controlling ones weed themselves out.

...sorry if that seems a bit needlessly pedantic. America as a country likes to claim credit for the work of a few productive states while trash talking them the rest of the time and contributing nothing. It's basically a massive freeloader that likes to pretend it's the bread-winner.

fartyfey.bsky.social @fartyfey.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
No. Some cities in America have railways. This isn't quite the same because they each have to trudge through a lot of crapola to get them individually with no federal help, while the country itself is too obsessed with hoarding highway lanes to consider updating its piddling railway "system".

Bc most american mayors haven't been doing their job. If they were, people'd think he's nice, sure, but wouldn't be obsessed with him / envying NYC. He's basically an example of how much COULD have been getting done this whole time, and pressures bad mayors by showing voters they could do better.

And if the whole point is that someone Cannot work... requiring them to do so seems like trying to prove they can, not that they can't. So you have to be able to work before they'll admit you can't work, and what's stopping them from using passing their own test as a means to deny coverage?
030
fartyfey.bsky.social @fartyfey.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
Any requirement to work before getting aid is fucked up. Despite anti-discrimination regulations, bosses are less likely to hire people they notice issues with. So it's also a mandatory popularity contest. And forcing disabled to work can cause injury, making disabilities worse.

or atleast end societal breeding pressure. no more from those who don't 100% want to, for many reasons. one is that evolution vs ecosystem have never agreed on 'infinite growth'. species that outgrow their surroundings always end up put in their place eventually. our "find out" phase is catching up.

Suicide ideation isn't a death-loving glitch. Suicidal people don't want to die. It's a desperate reaction to perceiving no escape. The sapient equivalent of a trapped coyote chewing off its leg. If a society constantly triggers a lethal trap response, the problem is what is passing for a "society".
