Agreed, although I wouldn't put it past this front office to trot out some more retreads who are supposedly "hitters first" and then can't hit or play the outfield. They are forever trying to put infielders in the outfield without regard to defense.

I feel the exact same way about the outfield. If he tries to run it back with Taveras and any other combination of castoffs and retreads to start the season (while Cowser rides the pine), I truly believe that my head will explode.

Agreed. And I absolutely love Pete. Great deal. But where is the support for Pete? You run out guys batting under the Mendoza line every freakin' day because you can't find anyone decent enough to replace the guys you traded or run out relievers that suck.

Even when the whole AL was crap, he decided to sell,when there was still a reasonable chance to make the playoffs. 8 freaking years. It's nice to have those prospects, but that's little comfort while watching the the teams we dealt to in the playoffs.

ME can collect all the quality prospects he wants, but the question remains is if he can develop them into major league quality players. Give up on the season for unproven prospects? 8 years have been more than enough. I certainly don't want to give him "just a few more years" to prove himself.

Not to mention trading away a quality relief (like we didn't need one of thoses) pitcher who has an ERA of 1.50 with his new team. ME gave up and killed any chance of the playoffs when he decided to sell in order to collect lots more of his shiny prospects. Ohhhh, my precious prospects!!!
