It’s been threatening to storm here all afternoon. It rumbled shortly after Charlie and I returned from taking off recycling and trash. I asked Mason help me load the hardtop gazebo the wife bought & had delivered yesterday. He took his time coming down, so I rolled Little Zook into the garage.

In 2007, I bought a little motorcycle that got 60MPG. You can bet I commuted on that scoot in 2008 and beyond. Today, I got new tires on it and it’s once again fully operational. I’ll reconfigure it for groceries if needed. Being involuntarily retired, commuting isn’t happening.

I can relate, but it’s not constant. Mostly, there’s a 15-45 minute window between “Hm, maybe I should figure out what’s for lunch” and “EAT NOW.” Mostly snacks are either nuts or crackers with pimento cheese.

Some time back, someone got annoyed enough with troff being locked behind proprietary licenses to write GNU Troff, often just called Groff. The Groff community learned the book was made an OpenBook, but the original source wasn’t available. We OCR’ed our hearts out & rebuilt “UTP Revival.”

G’Evening! I’m making extensive revisions to a 40 year old book called “Unix Text Processing.” Back then, what was super high-end is now routine, but the old software is still around and available under either open source or personal use licenses. I’m recreating utilities as a side project.
